Economic efficiency of public investment project

This bachelor thesis focuses at the economic efficiency of a public investment project, which is evaluated by a cost-benefit analysis. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts related to the issue and describes the process of evaluating a public project used in a case study. The case study evaluates a construction project of a new lookout tower on Velká Deštná in the Orlické hory. The financial and economic analysis was performed based on the identified input values. Another element was the sensitivity analysis in order to reveal the risk factors of the project.

The bachelor thesis is concerning with the financing of the investment activities of municipalities. In thesis are described the possible sources of financing including the grant programs of the European Union and Czech Republic. Also there is presented the specific construction contract of the municipality and its financing. The aim of the thesis is to analyze this concrete project and its ways of financing.

The bachelor thesis explores the possibilities of funding from the EU Structural Funds for financing the project Poradce, which a non-profit organization Highland Education would like to implement. The work contains a proposal prepared by the optimal design of the project, with regard to the structure and nature of funding required and in accordance with the possibilities offered by the European Union. The theoretical part deals with regional policy. Practical section analyses the problem, discusses the current situation and processes the documents required for grants from the EU.
Evaluation of the Qualitative Benefits of the Development Project Co-financed by the EU

The first part of my work focuses on the theoretical description of EU regional policy, its evolution and the description and the objectives of the different programming periods. In this part of the work is also described which EU funds are being used for co-financing of different goals. Furthermore I define all operational programs which can be used to draw funds to provide grants. These information are necessarry to choose the right operational program to use. For the particular project co-financed from the European Union, I present an economic analysis of the project and a questionnaire survey which I use to do a qualitative assessment of the project and its help for the development of the region.

This diploma thesis focuses on the EU structural funds and their utilization in the development of municipal infrastructure. The thesis starts by introducing the theoretical knowledge which is followed by analysis of the status quo. Finally, it elaborates concrete proposal for financing of large investment project in a small village. The results should help municipal council to realize the possibilities of municipal budget in the implementation of extensive investments and as the basis for decision making of the method of financing.

An important part is the information on the project management of European projects, especially the process of application and its output is, therefore, offer of the available resources, together with the principles and procedures to increase the success rate of applications for the subsidy.

Hlavním cílem práce je finanční analýza vybrané společnosti a navržení investičního projektu s důrazem na požadavky kladené na možnost čerpání dotací z evropských fondů. V práci jsou využity data poskytnuté společnosti, které jsou využity při tvorbě finanční analýzy, dále metody PESTL analýzy, Porterův pětifaktorový model, a SWOT analýza. Na závěr bude investiční projekt doporučen či zamítnut.

Concretely it is the project of Reconstruction and completion of Municipal museum Česka Trebova. The thoretical part focuses on goals and instruments of regional policy of European Union in period 2007 – 2013. The goal of practical part is to describe how to fill in the application form.

The first part focuses on the theoretical overview and explanation of basic concepts related to the issue of regional development, regional politics and development strategies. The second practical part focuses on the characteristics of the South – Moravian Region and focuses on competitiveness issues, calculates on the basic of statistical variables and is supplemented by SWOT analysis and identification of impacts that have an impact on the proposed regional development.
