Lives of families with autism
KALÍŠKOVÁ, Iveta
The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to find out how a diagnosis of a child with ASD influenced the life of the family. The analysis of the information obtained from the interviews provided a lot of knowledge. At the same time, answers to individual research questions were found, the research questions were focused on the normal day of a family with a child with ASD, changes between partners after obtaining the diagnosis and the extent to which the diagnosis affected the overall life of the family. The research was carried out using a qualitative research strategy, and using the technique of a semi-structured interview with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. For this type of research, questions were prepared in advance and adjusted during the interview. The research survey was conducted with twelve informants-parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. Thanks to open coding, ten basic categories have been found. It was clear from the interviews that every child with ASD, even while having the same diagnosis, differs from the others in their manifestations. The statements of the mothers intersected mainly in the area of the stereotypical life of the children, but at the same time they agreed on having relieved emotions after the diagnosis. The parents suddenly felt more confident and stopped doubting their alleged failure in parenting. The informants cited wider family relationships and the time-consuming care as major problems. After finding out the diagnosis, certain changes have taken place in the relations between the partners. Although the diagnosis was the cause of the breakdown of the partnership in some families, in others it led to the strengthening and deepening of cooperation between the partners. The elaboration of this topic not only helped me to broaden my view in the field of autism spectrum disorders, but even enriched me with new friendly relationships with families. The research included in the bachelor's thesis can help spread information about autism spectrum disorders and at the same time show parents that they are not alone with this diagnosis.
Family with Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder
DOULOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis deals with a family with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) child and with possibilities of his/her support in the framework of social services. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to complete theoretical knowledge of a designated topic of the thesis and, on its bases, investigate the possibilities of social services for families with ASD children in the Region of South Bohemia, and to clarify how much these social services fulfil theses families´ individual needs. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on a selection, availability, quantity and quality of social services from the point of view of a family. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical part and an empiric part. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter deals with a current classification of autism spectrum disorders, it describes their specific etiology and symptomatology. This chapter comprises a classification and characteristics of individual autism spectrum disorders. The second chapter specifies a family with an ASD child and describes their place within the society. The third and last chapter designates the field of social services focused on social services for families with ASD children. The empiric part provides a determined goal of this thesis together with research questions. The thesis used a method of qualitative research within a design of a grounded theory. During the data collection, a method of half-structured interview with parents of ASD children was used. Their answers were processed by a technique of open coding. The research construction results in the information that a predominant part of the respondents is satisfied with used social services. The social services meet individual needs both of the children and their families and they mean a big asset for them. The major difficulty they see is an insufficient amount and lower availability of these social services. Especially the respondents from small towns or villages would appreciate a bigger offer of the social services in the place where they live or a better time availability of already used social services. A great amount of the respondents expressed some concern for their children´s future related to their adulthood, mostly a need of assurance concerning further permanent care, job application and use of social services.

KOLÁŘOVÁ, Denisa
The bachelor's thesis deals with the employment of people with autism spectrum disorder. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to approach the issue of employment in the labour market for people with ASD and at the same time describe the specifics of employing people with ASD and further connect the results with potential employers and acquaint the general public with the positives of employing people with ASD. Qualitative research was used to fulfil the above goal. With this chosen strategy, the research sample was selected through institutions that deal with the issue of ASD. The first research sample represent parents and children with autism spectrum disorder, and the next research sample are social inclusion workers. Data were obtained by the method of questioning, the technique of semi-controlled interview. Then, the data were evaluated by using open coding method followed by data categorization. The results show that people with ASD do not have much experience in employment and they mentioned employers as one of the prime reasons who are not inclined to offer positions to people with autism spectrum disorder. Despite offering them a number of benefits, both economic and individual. This bachelor's thesis and its findings can be useful as a warning to the general public and professionals interested in the issue of ASD. Another benefit can be considered an increase in awareness and the notion of employers about the employability of people with ASD - that's means factors and specifics associated with the employment of these individuals. Lastly, I would also mention the benefits for organizations in using new knowledge from practice.

Emotional transition and nonstructural changes in mouse models of autism
Nováková, Rozálie ; Kubik-Zahorodna, Agnieszka (advisor) ; Bendová, Zdeňka (referee)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by repetitive behaviour and impairments in social behaviour and social communication. The whole aetiological heterogeneity is still not fully elucidated. It is then very important to focus on experimental research, especially on animal models, to help with drug development and recovery. To broaden the variability of focus of behavioural tests on mouse sociability, a new modification of a test to assess transfer of emotional information was proposed. A similar test was published recently for the first time, but it is still not common to use it in mice. Results show that it is possible to measure transfer of fear between conspecifics only during their immediate direct encounter through behavioural evaluation, but not in further standardised anxiety-evaluating tests. Self-grooming behaviour was the only parameter significantly affected by transferred anxiety in the experimental setup used, and therefore should be considered as the most sensitive behavioural parameter describing animal emotional state. However, the variability in individual animal behaviour is still considerably large, which confounds the results to a great degree. Such a behavioural test for transfer of emotional information may be especially useful in...
