Kučera, Jiljí ; Wittmann, Maxmilian (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the design of a pavilion for the Australia - New Guinea exhibition in Brno Zoo. The building serves mainly as an exposition and home for exotic species of birds, small mammals and fish. The building should meet all the conditions of buildings for the public, working conditions for employees and animal welfare. The area under consideration is located in the premises of the Brno Zoo, in the northern part of the district of Bystrc. The construction site is located roughly in the middle of the zoo at the crossroads between the Tropical Pavilion and the African Village. The relatively sloping, irregular plot is accessible from the north and east sides by a campus road. The kangaroo enclosure is directly adjacent to the west side, while the bison and camel enclosures are located to the north, across the road. The resulting design consists of a two-storey building that follows the contour line of the site. It is a building composed of two regular masses of rectangular plan. The upper smaller mass is superimposed on the lower larger mass. The pavilion includes indoor and outdoor aviaries, terrariums, aquariums, staff facilities, animal facilities and food preparation. The facade of the Exotarium imitates the red rock typical of Australia. It is made up of an ETICS system to which a moulded polystyrene layer and a painted surface will be added. An extensive green roof with aviaries is proposed on the main building. The design includes a small plaza to provide shade for visitors. Two buildings are proposed within the square - refreshments and public toilets. The bachelor thesis is based on documents in the form of assignment, dwg drawing of the cadastral situation and architectural study from the course BGA036 - Architectural Atelier 5.

GDP growth and welfare in developing countries: the case study of Nigeria from 2022-2022
Elias Oluwasegun, Emmanuel
This dissertation sought to assess the impact of economic growth, particularly measured by GDP growth, on various welfare indicators within the framework of Nigeria's economy over the past two decades (2002-2022). A critical literature review laid the groundwork, surveying existing research to establish a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical underpinnings and empirical evidence related to economic growth and welfare. The chosen methodology involved the analysis of trends in GDP growth and welfare indicators using secondary data collected from reputable sources. Multivariate regression analysis, executed with the STATA software, enabled a simultaneous examination of the effects of GDP growth on key indicators such as inequality, poverty, unemployment, and life expectancy. The study aimed to provide valuable insights into Nigeria's economic dynamics and their repercussions on societal well-being. By scrutinizing the nuanced relationships between GDP growth and various welfare metrics, the research contributes not only to academic scholarship but also informs policy formulation. The outcomes of this analysis are expected to guide policymakers and stakeholders in shaping strategies that promote sustainable economic growth, thereby positively impacting inequality, poverty rates, unemployment, and overall life expectancy. In essence, this thesis represents a systematic effort to unravel the complexities of the economic-social nexus in Nigeria, offering a holistic perspective on the ramifications of economic growth on the broader welfare landscape.

Výskyt stereotypního chování u sledovaných koní
Marková, Lucie
The aim of the work was to observe the occurrence of stereotypic behaviour in monitored horses, identify its causes and suggest possible solutions in practice. Furthermore, the aim was to determine the possible influence of stereotypic behaviour on an individual's social status in the herd. Horses were divided into four groups: horses in intensive training, very low workload, with minimal or zero workload and horses displaying stereotypic behaviour. The influence of temperament, workload and the way the horse is stabled on the incidence of stereotypic behaviour has been demonstrated. The stereotypic behaviour was divided into three phases, according to the development, for the initial phase, the advanced phase and the chronic phase. An experiment was conducted in two horses exhibiting the early stages of stereotypic behaviour, where effort was made to prevent further development of stereotypic behaviour and it was demonstrated that stereotypic behaviour could indeed be reduced or stopped altogether in the early stages. In conclusion, it was determined that stereotypic behaviour is the way the horse deal with a stressful situation for him and the best solution is to give the horse the op-portunity and space to move freely and to exhibit natural behaviour.
