Platform for Digital Predistortion Based on RFSoC

Signal predistortion occurs in modern communication systems and in other systems requiring linear signal amplification. The objective is to learn about signal predistortion, the QORVO 1800 MHz FDD radio front-end and to implement the front-end control using RFSoC and Matlab computer program. I focus on controlling individual attenuators and amplifiers on the QORVO front-end with a program written in C. Using a single board computer Raspberry Pi 4B running Linux. Furthermore, the work involves the application of a SCPI server that operates based on TCP packets. As part of the introduction to the front-end, the power characteristic of the power amplifier is measured.
Laboratory microcontroller system - FEKTis

The aim of this work is to create a teaching laboratory system that will be used for teaching the subject MPC-POR and it will include a microcontroller module ATmega 328p xplained mini. This system is also intended to use the peripherals from the previous system with the I51 microcontroller. The individual components used as well as the individual peripherals are also described. The physical design of the laboratory system and the demonstration software are discussed. The finished system is tested and the results of the work are evaluated.
Stereo ADC and DAC converter for audio

This bachelor's thesis deals with the problem of designing a programmable digital sound processor with its input connected to a device, such as a personal computer or a mobile phone, and an output intended for headphones. One segment of this thesis handles digital filters, specifically FIR and IIR filters. The MATLAB environment was used to design the filters shown in this thesis. Furthermore, the buses SPI, I2C and I2S that are used on the device are described. The parameters of individual functional blocks are summarized, and the designed circuit schematic are displayed in this thesis. In the practical part of this thesis a prototype printed ciruit board was designed and its' electrical parameters were measured and processed. Finally, the last part of this thesis describes the inner workings of the program that the microcontroller executes.
Laboratory exercise - IQRF module for measuring mesh networks

This bachelor’s thesis deals with creating a laboratory task integrated into the subject of "Communication Systems for IoT." The first part of the thesis consists of familiarizing oneself with the issues of the IQRF network, its topology, and the network’s capabilities. The thesis compares IQRF technology with other IoT technologies commonly used in this field. The practical part of the thesis comprises the design of a module for the IQRF transmitter TR-72DA in the form of a mini PCIe card. Another part of the thesis deals with establishing communication with the BPC-IoT board using the SPI bus, with temperature measurement used as an example. The final part of the thesis is the assignment for the actual laboratory task. The appendices also include schematics and source code of programs for both the BPC-IoT board and the IQRF transmitter.
Software extension of the education model

This bachelor's thesis deals with the possibilities of communication with converters from the company FTDI using a program in Python. It focuses on MPSSE and communication using the SPI protocol. The thesis focuses exclusively on the communication with FT2232H converter, which is located in a single-motor educational model. The aim of the thesis is also to establish communication with educational model using one of the pre-prepared libraries. Subsequently, a function library will be created for this communication solution for users, including instructions for use. Within the framework of using this function library, the user will be able to use a total of three sample tasks. Measurement of the properties of this communication between the computer and the educational model will also be carried out.
Implementation of HDL module for data preprocessing from multichannel ADC

Master’s thesis focuses on designing and implementing digital filters inside FPGA to create versatile VHDL components for data pre-processing. The goal was to develop a reusable solution that efficiently filters input data from an ADC using FIR and CIC filters implemented inside FPGA. Externally, the device operates as a slave component, communicating via the SPI bus for integration into complex data processing systems. Theoretical discussions covers ADC converter fundamentals, FPGA architectures, digital filter theory, and hardware selection. Practical implementation describes VHDL design, optimization for performance, and rigorous real-world testing, including simulation, synthesis, and evaluation with real data inputs. This work produces a VHDL component for data pre-processing, suitable for projects that requires efficient data filtering.
Stencil Printing of Solder Paste and Process Optimization for Increasing Yield

This diploma thesis focuses on the comprehensive analysis and optimization of the solder paste stencil printing process, which is crucial for the production of high quality and reliable electronic devices. The work includes a review of the historical development of printing technologies, a comparison of different types of stencils and their surface treatment methods such as plasma-coating and electro-polishing. The practical part analyses data from automatic optical inspection (AOI) and solder paste inspection (SPI), with results showing that plasma-coated stencils achieve higher print quality. The investigation of surface hydrophobicity and microscopic analysis of the stencils provide important insights for improving manufacturing processes in the electronics industry.

Emulation of Character-Based LCD Display Using E-Ink Technology

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design a simple printed circuit board interconnect. The board is planned to be equipped with a microcontroller that will receive communication signals originally intended for LCD character displays. The communication may be parallel or serial, in the form of SPI and I2C type interfaces. These signals are planned to be received and converted to E-Ink display signals. That display will show information in the same format as it was designed for LCD displays. The E-Ink display replaces LCD displays without the need of changing the original library or the original communication interface. This method of replacement is suitable when a LCD character display is destroyed and a suitable replacement cannot be found, or when the E-Ink display is more suitable.
Monitoring the living environment in the house

This work, tries to create a small, rechargeable and portable device that senses temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, dust particles, carbon dioxide and VOC concentration. The air quality monitor can reliably measure the physical quantities encountered in every indoor environment, evaluate them and display them to the user. The sensors, data storage module and OLED display are housed on a custom-made PCB board.
