This diploma thesis developed in the form of the experiment deals with the measurement of thermal properties of straw in intention to describe its physical parameters for construction purposes. In the experiment the thermal conductivity of straw and its dependences on density and humidity, heat capacity of straw, diffusion properties of straw and sorption properties of straw were measured and investigated. The measured values were used to simulate the hygrothermal physical processes of the external wall with straw insulation. The ISOMET instrument and HEAT FLOW METER NETSCH 436-1 were used to measure thermal conductivity. The bowl method according to ČSN EN ISO 12572 was used to measure the diffusion resistance, the DVS Resolution device was used to measure the sorption properties. The measured values were used to simulate hygrothermal physical processes using DELPHIN software.

Dřevostavba rodinného domu v Nedvědici

Topic of the master thesis is the design of wooden family house in Nedvědice with system of massive wooden panels. The theoretical section of the thesis is especially focused on summary of materials which the new building may consists. Principles of buildings made of solid wood panels, principles of thermal technology and acoustics are described here. Practical session deals with the design of the individual constructios and then with evaluation in terms of thermo - technical, light - technical and acustic point of view. The output of work is the project documentation of family house for the purpose of building permit and object visualization.
Energy Assessment of the Civic Building

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the energy assessment of the municipal office in Jedovnice. The theoretical part is about energy assessment software. The calculation part analyzes the building's energy needs and flows. In the calculation part, there are also proposals for measures to save energy needed for building operation, and a subse-quent comparison of individual measures from an energy and economic point of view. In part C, there are two PENB cards, one of the original state of the object and the other one of the optimized state.
Concrete with Bio-Based Aggregates

This article focuses primarily on concrete made from plant-based aggregates (rapeseed and hemp straw) coupled with a binder (lime-based and water glass). These materials may represent a way to ensure the sustainable production of building structures with high insulation properties. It is necessary to have thorough knowledge of the behaviour of such materials in order to improve their applicability in diverse construction projects around the world. The main finding of this paper is that a composite material composed of locally available secondary agricultural raw material and lime binder exhibits excellent thermal properties.
A Study of the Renovation of Selected Houses to Meet the Requirements of the Energy Performance Class “D” According to EPBD IV

Under the forthcoming EPBD IV, existing residential buildings should meet the criteria of the energy performance class D by 2033. This case study deals with the energy performance of two selected houses in the Czech Republic. These houses were built in 1960 and 2000 and they currently do not meet the future requirements. Measures regarding the building envelope and the heat source were proposed. With the help of the building energy performance certificates and the calculation using the hourly method, the 2033 requirements were achieved.
Influence of Insulating a Building for Family Holiday on the Expenses Related to its Operation

This diploma thesis deals with the impact of thermal insulation on expenses relateted to the operation of the weekend house. Theoretical part describes options of thermal insulation systems, insulation methodes, describes structural prices and costs. Practical part of this thesis describes heat costs on specific weekend house situated in Karlovy Vary region. Thermal insulations are designed in three different variants. Calculation of costs of every designed insulation systém is included in this thesis. In next part of thesis is calculated return of investment for every designed solution. In conclusion of the diploma thesis are compared impacts of thermal insulation on expenses ralated to the operation of the weekend house.
Assessment of investment in heating house

The bachelor´s thesis deals with economic evaluation of investment in insulation and heating and resulting operation of boilers in a family house. The calculation of thermal design power, which is needed for heating, was made according to norm ČSN EN 12831 for the house in actual state without insulation. Further were suggested two options of insulations and modernization of windows, for reduction of heat loss. Then was calculated the thermal design power for the two new options, again according to norm ČSN EN 12831. Next were presented possibilities of heat sources. For the specified family house was chosen a gas boiler in classical and condensing implementation for all three variants of insulation. These all options have made six variants which were compared together and evaluated. In the conclusion were excluded four variants economically disadvantageous and was chosen one of the final two variants as the best suggestion for the specified family house.

This bachelor thesis deals with design and creation of project documentation for realization of object of family residence in the Radotín, Prague 16. The parcel 2087/66 determined for object is located on the cadastral territory of Prague 16 and it is suitable for construction of quite formidable family houses and buildings of villa house character. The surrounding development is not older than 5 years. The design respects spatial plan and it does not stand out of character of sourrounding development. The attached project documentation is created in concordance with actual valid laws, notices and norms. The solved object is a building of bigger family residence with two overground floors, without basement and with garage for two cars. It is assumed that the building is to be used by five people. The object contour is irregular and roofs are done by two flat roofs. The construction systém of walls is designed as aircrete block system. Object is composed from one housing unit with all accessories.
Household cost analysis

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the cost of a house in the area of peripheral constructions and the effect of thermal insulation on energy consumption for heating and hot water. The theoretical part generally defines renewable energy sources, heat sources, thermal transmissions and structural losses, basics of valuation of construction works and supplies and overview of state subsidies. In the practical part are proposed composition of peripheral constructions, calculation of heat transfer coefficient of all designed perimeter structures and their subsequent evaluation. Furthermore, there is an estimated annual energy demand for heating and hot water and annual electricity consumption in the household. At the end of diploma thesis is a proposal of suitable energy sources and calculation of the return on investment in these sources.
