Economic and financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in a specific company

This bachelor thesis is focused on the economic and financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Laskala guesthouse operated by DHZ RAMPA, s.r.o. and subsequent proposals for improving the situation. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first theoretical part of this thesis contains the literature research necessary for the second analytical part. In the analytical part, the financial statements of the company for the period 2018-2022 are analysed using financial analysis. The last propositional part is focused on the elaboration of proposals that will help DHZ RAMPA, s.r.o. to improve the financial situation of the Laskala guesthouse.

The bachelor thesis focuses on evaluating the financial situation of a selected company for the period 2018-2022. The evaluation is conducted using selected methods of financial analysis. The first part of the thesis includes the definition of theoretical foundations, which serve as the basis for the development of the second, analytical part of the thesis. Based on the analysis of the company's current state, the third part of the thesis presents proposals for improving its financial situation.

The second part focuses on the application of the described methods, during which key trends and shortcomings are identified. The third part is based on these findings, as it proposes solutions to help improve the financial situation and long-term sustainability of the company.

Diploma thesis solves what to do with the old flat in the long-term horizon considering all possible risks. Thesis analyses current status of the flat and calculates its approximate price in the reality market. Then it compares rentability of hiring with the option of selling and investing to the three most common bank products. It analyses risks associated with all options. The output is the recommendation of the most profitable option considering the owners interests.

The theoretical part defines concepts and specific formulas from selected literature. The analytical part contains of detailed description of the organization together with the calculated indicators. The suggestions for the improvement of financial situation of the organization are based on the calculations from the analytical part.

This master´s thesis suggests a business plan for further progress of an existing company “i-Studio Ltd”. It is looking at opportunities in already operating branch. It is trying to suggest a project which would lead to better profitability, expenditure and stabilizing of current market share and also strengthen the company name. The aim of thesis therefore is, on the base of an analysis, to propose such a project, where previous results and experiences are going to be used, to make competitiveness and further progress of the company better.

Evaluation of the Financial Health of the Selected Company and Suggestions for Improvement

Financial analysis of selected company will be performed in my thesis. In the first part, theoretical bases will be introduced for practical use. Further, analysis of business environment – SLEPTE will be presented together with Porter's analysis and breakdown of internal business environment – 7S. Strenghts, weaknesses along with opportunities and threats for the company will be defined on the base of preceding analysis. In other words, SWOT analysis will be done. Financial analysis will be performed between years 2007 and 2011. Possible company's drawbacks will be solved in proposal part.
