Web-based Library of Graphical Components for Smart Devices Data Visualization

The objective of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyze the existing graphical components of the ACADA web application. ACADA is an application developed by Logimic that manages individual smart devices and visualizes the collected data. Based on this analysis, a unified graphical library will be designed that will include the basic building blocks of any web application, as well as components for displaying data from the devices. The library will focus on the configurability of the application from the user’s perspective. In the context of the implementation in Angular, the focus will be on dynamic component rendering.

The application is created using programming language Python and its graphic library Python Imaging Library. Graphic user interface is realized by GTK+ or more precisely by PyGTK, its application program interface for Python.

This work deals with description of graphic library for a touch screen educational kit with a microcontroller from Freescale. Part of this library is a driver that accelerates gradient rendering and supports reading from video RAM. The library allows inserting images with transparency and their upscaling. Multiple fonts are also supported. Fonts can be upscaled and their weight can be set.
