The association of compassion fatigue in the tendency to drop out among hospice volunteers

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to explore how compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction are related to the tendency of volunteers to leave hospice services. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis mainly focuses on explaining the concepts of palliative and hospice care. Furthermore, the differences between inpatient and mobile hospice are briefly defined. The general understanding of volunteering is also discussed, which is then placed in the context of palliative and hospice care. In detail, the thesis focuses mainly on the volunteers' experience, i.e. the benefits, possible risks and reasons why some volunteers leave the services. The theoretical section concludes by introducing the concept of professional quality of life and its subcomponents, i.e. compassion satisfaction, burnout and secondary traumatic stress. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis is mainly quantitative. Its main aim is to explore whether compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction have any relationship with the tendency of volunteers to leave hospice services. The theme of death in communication between parents and children

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to explore how parents communicate with their children about death. In my research I would approach this question from the perspective of two basic situations, namely families where there has been a death of a family member, close relative or pet and families where they have not had this experience. The theoretical part is devoted to a brief introduction to the topic of death. The content of the literature review part of the thesis is an understanding of the different stages of a child's cognitive development in relation to the perception of death, which is essential for communication with parents. It is to the stages of cognitive development that much of the thesis is devoted, supplemented by individual factors that may influence communication with the child on the topic of death. Key chapters also include the child's understanding of the biological functioning of the body, which determines whether the child is able to understand certain components in the overall understanding of the topic of death. Furthermore, the thesis mentions important factors such as funeral rituals, beliefs and social media that may influence children's communication about death. Connection between exact personality traits and creative self-efficacy in street and club dancers

This bachelor thesis investigates the topic of creative self-beliefs with a focus on creative self- efficacy in relation to specific personality traits in street dance and club dancers. The main aim of this thesis is to identify which personality traits are related to creative self-efficacy and to propose research for the domain of freestyle dancing, where no research of this type has been conducted to date. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the existing knowledge of this research area. Thus, it discusses creative self-efficacy, creative metacognition, and creative self- concept and how to measure these self-beliefs in the domain of creativity. Next, the theoretical section discusses personality traits that are related to creative self-beliefs. The empirical part contains a research design that, once implemented, aims to replicate the results on the association of creative self-efficacy with the Big Five personality traits - specifically extraversion and openness to experience. A further aim of the research is to determine whether creative self- efficacy has an impact on the actual quality of an individual's dance performance. The use of experiential virtual reality to minimize anxiety in children with life-limiting condition.

This thesis focuses on the use of virtual reality as an experiential intervention to alleviate anxiety in children with severe life-limiting or life-threatening diagnoses. The literature review section is based on three main chapters outlining: a) the life of children with these serious illnesses with a main focus on frequent visits to health care facilities for medical care and treatment, b) the most frequently mentioned aspects of psychological distress in these children and their families, and c) background information and an overview of the possible use of virtual reality as a psychological intervention and its effect in the paediatric population. The empirical part of the thesis is designed as a feasibility study based on which, it was confirmed that VR intervention is feasible in the context of a hospital setting and is well tolerated and positively accepted by paediatric patients. The selected data collection methods are manageable and non-intrusive for children. The overall level of distraction was high for all participants, except one who reported the game as not very enjoyable and was unable to concentrate. Replacement Child Syndrome: the Way of Communicating the Death of a Sibling and the Subsequent Relationships in the Family

This paper deals with the phenomenon of replacement children, most often referred to in the literature as the "replacement child syndrome". The theoretical part presents the existing knowledge that exists about the experience and lived experience of replacement children. It also discusses subsequent pregnancy, the course of which has an impact on the later atmosphere in the family. There is also a chapter on the topic of family communication about death, including a focus on the death of a sibling. The research design focuses on family communication about the death of a sibling. Specifically, it deals with the issue of family communication with these children, namely the fact that there was another sibling in the family who died before they were born. The research aims to find out what effect the mode of communication had on subsequent relationships within the family.
