Focko, Mikuláš ; Urban, Michal (advisor) ; Friedel, Tomáš (referee)
Perception of the legal regulation of the profession of secondary school pedagogical workers by its addressees Abstract The aim of this thesis is to find out how school principals and teachers of grammar schools founded by a public founder perceive their rights and obligations on the basis of an analysis of relevant legal regulations and a sociological survey in relation to these subjects. Specifically, the thesis summarises the extent to which these subjects are aware of their rights and obligations in relation to health and safety regulations, liability and furthermore in the context of selected labour law issues. However, it is not only about their knowledge in this area, but also about their perception of the setting of the school system and whether they feel sufficiently protected by the legislation in such a system. The main sources for understanding the legal regulation of the profession of school principal and teacher of grammar schools established by a public founder, from which the thesis draws, are the Education Act, the Labour Code, the Civil Code and related sub-legislative regulations, together with internal methodologies of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Case law is also relevant to the thesis, in the areas of liability and health and safety regulations. These sources are...

Language and discourse of Processed World

Škopková, Andrea ; Urban, Michal (advisor) ; Agha, Petr (referee)
67 Visualisation of crime in the Normalization cinema Abstract The thesis deals with the question to what extent and in what way the Czechoslovak Normalisation through state-controlled cinema influenced the portrayal of crime/criminality in crime and detective films. The present work attempts to capture the schemes and boundaries within which the dramaturgy of Czech film genre production moved during the so-called Normalisation. The work is based on comparing available data and studies on real crime with its filmic portrayal. The thesis includes a chapter devoted to interdisciplinary, especially sociological, contexts of researching crime and its reflection in society. Another part of the text includes the historical and legal-historical context of the topic under study and the transformations of criminal law. Together with a description of some selected motifs of the film narratives and with an assessment of the extent to which and in what ways selected criminological topics (e.g. recidivism, the problem of social pathologies) are reflected in contemporary professional literature (or statistics) and film, the thesis illustrates with specific examples the ways in which the ideology of Normalization may manifested itself in film productions primarily for the entertainment of the audience (the public). The...

The thesis first offers a brief overview of the professional values and skills typically associated with legal professionals, this overview is primarily based on the Anglo-American tradition and the McCrate Report. In the next part, the thesis describes some proactive characteristics of law - the author uses the term proactive to refer to the changes in law and its practice driven by the use of new technologies. Klápová, Michaela ; Urban, Michal (advisor) ; Ondřejková, Jana (referee)
The Czech legal system in the time of the coronavirus in the light of Fuller's principles of good law Trust in law-making institutions Abstract This thesis deals with the issue of how the Czech legal system changed during the coronavirus crisis in the light of Fuller's principles of good law. The aim of the thesis was to find out how this change affected people's trust in law-making institutions. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part introduces Lon L. Fuller as a philosopher of law, who significantly influenced the view of legal theory and provoked many responses to his views from both his critics and supporters. The second part of the thesis is a theoretical background to the specific features of the legal system in the situation that arose due to the spread of the Covid-19 disease in the Czech Republic. In the next part of the thesis I subject the legislation issued during the coronavirus crisis to Fuller's requirements of what law should look like. By analyzing the case law of administrative courts, especially the reasoning for their judgments, I found cases of violations of Fuller's principles that occurred during the coronavirus period. I have outlined other violations of some of these principles by means of the Public Opinion Research Centre's special research on measures to prevent...
