Methods of reducing the consumption of modern vehicles
Kubeš, Filip ; Pech, Ondřej (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the basic knowledge of thermodynamics of internal combustion engines. Emphasis was put on engine efficiency and engine cycles, described by theoretical and indicator diagrams. It also introduces classification of engine efficiencies, and their respective definitions. The next section focuses on some systems used in modern vehicles, that improves engine efficiency and reduces fuel consumption. Moreover it includes conceptual solutions, that are in preparation for mass production. The last part of this thesis concentrates on economical driving techniques, and reduction of driving resistance. In conclusion, the thesis shows the direction of next development of automobiles.
Vibration analysis of plates
Kubeš, Filip ; Machů, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rubeš, Ondřej (advisor)
The focus of this bachelor thesis is finding natural frequencies and shapes of thin plate, by using mainly the Chladni figures. Then there is requiered an experimental demonstration on plate excitated, designed acording to FEM model. FEM model was created using software Ansys 2019 workbench. The experiment have been done on plexiglass plate, steel square plate and steel rectangular plate, and aquired frequencies and shapes were compared with the model results. The plates were excitated by electrodynamic shaker from the company The Modal shop, inc. (type K2007E01).
System for testing yarn quality sensors
Kubeš, Filip ; Knobloch, Jan (referee) ; Rubeš, Ondřej (advisor)
In the current situation, there are big demands for a textile production and the yarn quality. For that reason it is necessary to test the quality of the yarn, using sensors such as sensor Q30 of the Rieter company. The main goal of this thesis is to design and create a station for testing of the mentioned sensors in their development. Movement of the tested yarn is provided by three stepper motors made by the Standa Ltd. For connecting of the tested yarn and the sensor to the system, several metal parts were designed and created. Finally an app was designed to control the system. It was created using a C# programming language in the .NET framework in the Visual studio IDE. As part of the application, there were created libraries containing control commands for the controller. These libraries are usable for a different projects too.
Design of driving simulator
Kubeš, Filip ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the design of a motion driving simulator for real-time simulation of driving experience. The design takes inspiration from an analysis of existing solutions. An emphasis was put on driver ergonomics in positions typical for a sports car, passenger car and truck, then on variability of motion system and simplicity of the whole design. The dynamics of motion system is also a subject of research. The computational model has been created to test the optimal position of moving arms. Another aim of the study is to create an interface between hardware and software, to confirm the function of the control device using a simple simulation model.

African Americans in Atlanta
Kubeš, Filip ; Anděl, Petr (advisor) ; Raška, Francis (referee)
Atlanta, Georgia is labeled as Black Mecca of the United States of America since the 1970s. The term "Black Mecca" describes a city which attracts African Americans in big numbers. These people seek better living conditions and especially job opportunities. This fact is quite surprising, because Atlanta belongs to a region of Deep South, where the conditions of African Americans were harsher than in other parts of the country for a very long time besides other things because of "Jim Crow" segregation laws. This work should present which factors are responsible for the fact that a southern city such as Atlanta became a sought-after center of African American immigration and how these factors were reached. Atlanta became Black Mecca, because it achieved several goals. African Americans politically control the city, Atlanta offers superior job opportunities, high quality educational institutions are located within the city and the relations between white and black people are quite harmonic. These points were achieved besides other things thanks to the people that lived in the city including influential figures such as William Hartsfield, Ivan Allen, Robert Woodruff, Maynard Jackson, Andrew Young and many more.
British Labour Party's Ideological Shift between 2010 and 2015
Kubeš, Filip ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Váška, Jan (referee)
The goal of this dissertation is to find out how the ideological position of the British Labour party has changed between 2010 and 2015. This is achieved by content analysis of electoral manifestos for the House of Commons elections of 2010 and 2015. The results are achieved via the MARPOR RILE method. The result of this research serves to verify a theory created by Danish authors Martin Bækgaard and Carsten Jensen who claim that in political systems dominated by two large parties, these big parties react to electoral losses by moving the party from the median voter position towards their party base. This paper implies that the Labour Party has moved to the left on the left-right axis between 2010 and 2015 which means it has moved towards its party base. This means the aforementioned theory has been strengthened. Apart from the empirical result, this work also provides an overview of the party's policies in both points in time. These policies are divided into individual thematic categories.
