The theory and practice of body culture in the context of andragogy

The thesis deals with the relationship of adult's education and physical culture. It focuses on the growing role of education, especially adults, in contemporary society and formulates the idea of historical transformation of formerly time-and age-limited education in contemporary lifelong learning. In relation to that, the thesis describes the culture, especially the physical, and its link to the lifelong learning. This fact is considered from a historical and a theoretical perspective. Based on that, the thesis examines the relationship of adult's education and physical culture in the general theoretical and currently practical point of view. The importance of this investigation evaluates for potential adult's education knowledge application in physical culture and possible social function enhancing.
Problems of alcoholism in relation to working life

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of alcoholism in relation to working life. First, the attention is paid to alcoholism itself in terms of its conception, process and an individual who suffers from it. Then the thesis focuses on three possible causes of alcoholism associated with working life, which are stress, tolerant environment to alcohol consumption and unemployment. The attention is also aimed at high-risk professions of hospitality workers, laborers, medics and artists; it also deals with the impact of alcoholism on job performances of both an alcoholic and his colleagues. The thesis is also concerned with the problem of alcohol in the workplace in terms of the Labour Code and the employer sanctions. This topic is illustrated by a specific example of an employer procedure in addressing problems with alcohol in the workplace. Besides, the thesis addresses the issue of alcoholism prevention in connection with working life. In the end, the theoretical findings are illustrated by an alcoholic's work experiences as well as with the perspective of an individual who was in a close working contact with an alcoholic.

The issue of tertiary education in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy

The aim of the dissertation titled the issue of tertiary education in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy is to justify a cultural and social importance and need for developing disciplines - Hospitality and Catering at the college/university level. Sub-objectives judge the current state of professional education in the studied area. The main output is the concept of professional standards in defining key competencies and sample profile of a graduate of bachelor and master study programme of the examined field. The combination of several methods and techniques was used for the processing of this study - a comparison of higher education environment in the analysis field in the Czech Republic and Europe, including survey results from 556 respondents, observation and personal interviews. Results of the evaluated analysis and synthesis helped to formulate conclusions. The educational model for higher levels of hospitality and catering allows modifications within the study program - with regard to the requirements of professional environments. Based on survey results, it was defined competencies of graduates, which are required by employers of surveyed industries. Importance of education in the life stories of shoah survivors

The following thesis seeks to identify the importance of education for the witnesses of the Shoah. It outlines the form of education in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1948 and focuses on the education of the Jewish minority. The research includes the analysis of narrative interviews with Jewish survivors who lived through the Second World War. Through the study of literature and analysis of qualitative data shows the role played by education in the pre-war, wartime and post-war. The work points out that education was important for the Jewish minority always and its role has varied depending on the period. Key words: Jewish minority, education, Czechoslovakia 1918-1948
