The manifestations of technological determinism on the selection of news topics in ČT24 and ČRo Radiožurnál

The diploma thesis entitled The manifestations of technological determinism on the selection of news topics in ČT24 and ČRo Radiožurnál seeks an answer whether the choice of news topics in TV and radio is influenced by the available technologies in each of the media, and whether they eventually choose different events to cover. The theoretical part describes concepts of gatekeeping, news values and also technological determinism. In the practical part then the author analysed three days in broadcast of the chosen media, in each it was two-hour segments around the main news at noon and in the evening. Selected topics, that ČT24 had and Radiožurnál did not, have been later analysed by semiotic analyses in order to find whether the visuals were the factor why the event was not presented by the radio. Context of the findings were given by six semi-structured interviews with journalists form both radio and television. From all the data obtained, it is evident that the television had dozens of topics more per day, caused by the time space given to the news reporting. Unlike Český rozhlas Radiožurnál, ČT24 focused significantly on the visual side of events, which could be the reason why editorial board may reject a topic proposed by the reporters.

Legal regulation of the protection of plants and animals

The subject of my thesis is the regulation of wild fauna and flora protection. Given that the planet's biodiversity is threatened and there is a significant decline of the number of wild flora and fauna species, I consider an adequate regulation in this area the precondition for slowing down or halting this decline and restoring the wild fauna and flora populations. I chose this topic with the aim to show how the legislation provides for the protection of wild fauna and flora species on different levels, and in order to show in how far the regulations are sufficient. Considering the significant negative impact of invasive alien fauna and flora species on native species and the whole ecosystem, I am focusing in every chapter on these invasive species with the aim of pointing out the shortcomings regarding the regulations in this area. The question of regulation of the protection of wild fauna and flora is examined from a general perspective, the perspective of international law, the perspective of European Union law, as well as from the perspective of Czech and French law, focusing on the sources of legislation, guidelines, organizations and subjects, tools and responsibilities. Ergonomics and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in dentistry - focusing on dentists and dental hygienists

The aim of this work is to describe the issue of ergonomics in dental practice and evaluate its compliance among Czech dentists and dental hygienists. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with risk factors affecting dental practice and the consequences of non-compliance with correct ergonomics. Furthermore, it deals with ergonomic aspects from the individual positions of the dentist or dental hygienist, through the ergonomic arrangement of the work place to the appropriate working time layout with regular breaks used, inter alia, for performing stretching and compensation exercises. In the practical part, the working conditions and habits of dentists and dental hygienists were mapped on the basis of the questionnaire in terms of ergonomics and their awareness of ergonomics was ascertained. Furthermore, the occurrence of musculoskeletal problems associated with the performing of their profession was mapped and the results compared with domestic and foreign studies. In combination with literature information, educational material was created as an output, showing release, stretching, and compensation exercises to balance muscle imbalances.

Subject: Preparatory and basic phase of swimming education for preschool visual disability children. .Cíl práce: Vzhledem k předešlému tématu, je tato práce zaměřena na nácvik plaveckého způsobu prsa. Metoda: Zpracováno metodou kvalitativního participantního po- zorování. K hodnocení úrovně základních plaveckých dovedností jsme použili bodovací stupnici pro běžnou populaci dle Čechovské, Milera. Výsledky: Postupové kroky v přípravné a základní etapě plavecké výuky pro předškolní děti s diagnózou slabozrakosti jsou shodné jako u jedinců bežné populace.
