Battery management system for Formula Student
Macko, Maroš ; Bohrn, Marek (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is focused on battery management for Formula Student monopost. Part of the work is the design and implementation of this monitoring system. The system uses a distributed topology, is divided into the main subsystem and subordinate subsystems. The main subsystem and the selection of suitable components are described. Furthermore, subordinate subsystems are designed, and the fundamentals of battery voltage and temperature measurement are explained. Control firmware is implemented and it is able to communicate with the rest of the car. All systems were tested and they comply with the rules of the Formula Student competition.
Shooting sport simulation device
Poloch, Martin ; Musil, Vladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to design a shooting sport simulation device. Output of this project should be a market competitive product therefore the design should be focused on low price. Other important aspects are safety, reliability and mutlifunctionality of the whole system. Shooting simulation is based on special technology of sensing laser beams with LED developed in author´s bachelor thesis. The system is controlled by a group of microcontrollers. Their program running and communication is a key part of this thesis.
Hardware design of diesel injection system control unit
Novák, Matyáš ; Háze, Jiří (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the basic design of diesel injection control unit hardware. There is a description of the whole blocks of Motorpal Common Rail diesel injection system in the introduction. Next are described requirement of control unit hardware. In the following are descriptions of parts, which was choosed for adjustment. The second part of thesis describes the whole design of control unit wiring diagram. There is described each block in detail in this part. Next part describes component placement on printed circuit board. The conclusion of thesis compare designed version of control unit with elderly versions.
Power controller for Formula Student monopost
Sanetrik, Štefan ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Bohrn, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with design of power management unit for single seater Formula Student car. In first part are defined requirements for power management unit. In next part CAN protocol which, will be used for communication with system of the car, is introduced. Third part of thesis deals with circuit design. Mechanical design of device is introduced in next part followed by introduction of software Last part of thesis is focused on comparison of wanted and achieved parameters and conclusion of achieved results.
Safety communicator
Kuřímský, Lukáš ; Boušek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelors thesis deals with the draft of a safety communicator and the prototype that is able to transmit a rescue signal from areas that are inaccessible or not covered with GSM signal. The project offers a detailed description of the functions of the individual components necessary for processing and transmitting of the signal. Furthermore, it discusses the methods of transmitting and focuses particularly on one of the forms of amplitude modulation – amplitude shift keying that uses a self-healing protocol. It partly deals also with the process of choosing and designing the test antenna and its tuning.
Pixel Controller evaluation platform for automotive front-lighting
Vlasatý, Andrej ; Háze, Jiří (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the front LED headlamps in the automotive industry. This paper describes the supply options and how to control these headlamps. The theoretical part describes the parameters and communication interfaces of the NCV78343 device. The practical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the design of the evaluation platform, the functional blocks and the configuration options. The second chapter deals with the implementation of the control software and the last part shows the measurements that were made on the evaluation board. At the end, obtained results are summarized.
Control of LED light sources
Břoušek, Adam ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Boušek, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of devices for control and regulation of LEDs. The document summarizes basic information about light, its origin and variety. This work discusses the effects of light on humans. There are also discussed the possibilities of lighting control with LEDs. The work includes a diagram that describes a device for controlling and controlling light for daylight and night light.
The tube lights starter
Růžička, Jakub ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Pavlík, Michal (advisor)
This thesis is about design of the electronic ballast used for starting and dimming six 40 W fluorescent lamps. Controlling is provided by button and analog input. In the work it is used micro-controller which controls excitation circuit of transistors in the half-bridge driver IR2104. The electronic ballast is created for two fluorescent lamps with possibility to add other modules. Behavior of the ballast was simulated, and then it was measured on constructed devices.
Data storage system for area of civil aviation
Kotulič, Dominik ; Novák, Lukáš (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
In the thesis the design of the Data Storage System (DSS) is proposed with the respect to the V-Model methodology. The design is based on users requirements, from which the system requirements are created and the technical specification of the DSS is developed. In the technical specifications the functionality of the DMM and HMI DSS subsystems are described and sub-system requirements are assigned to them, then they are subdivided and assigned to individual DMM (Data memory module) and HMI hardware items. Moreover, requirements are analyzed on hardware items, specific electronic components, are selected and implemented into the block design of the DMM hardware. Based on the block design of hardware, the hardware of the DMM subsystem is designed, selectively simulated and implemented along with the printed circuit board. On the implemented hardware of the DMM subsystems measurements are performed in order to verify the basic functionality of the hardware and the calculated, assimilated and measured values are compared as well. At the end of the thesis there is a short description of the implementation of the software design and its use for basic initialization of the selected processor, together with the verification of its basic function - measuring the frequency of the internal clock sources and the clock domains. The work is completed by sending a message of defined parameters to the selected communication line and sapling it by an oscilloscope, so that the basic function of the DMM subsystem is verified.
Control and regulation system for glass-house
