UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds of selenium and tellurium
Nováková, Eliška ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Komárek, Josef (referee) ; Šíma, Jan (referee)
The presented thesis deals with UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds of Se and Te from various species. The aim of the project was to expand the current state of knowledge by the application of photocatalytic reduction of higher oxidation states of Se and Te for the speciation analysis based on UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds. The first step of the study was the assembly of the apparatus for the photocatalysed UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds. The material of reactor and the whole experimental set-up were based on literature survey and previous research done in our research group. Experiments were directed towards finding the optimum conditions for generation of volatile compounds of selected model elements Se and Te. Se was studied as the element most commonly determined by the UV-photochemical generation of volatile compounds. Conversely, Te was selected as a model analyte representing elements forming less stable volatile compounds. The second part was the application of the optimised method of photocatalysed UV- photochemical generation of volatile Se compound to the determination of Se in water matrices, liquid certified reference materials and also samples of dietary supplements. TiO2/UV-photochemical generation was also successfully modified to...
Supernatural Beings in Japanese Literature and Comics
Nováková, Eliška ; Tirala, Martin (advisor) ; Kanasugi, Petra (referee)
This bachelor thesis shows the development of depicting supernatural beings in Japanese literature and comics. The thesis analyses three supernatural beings - fox (kitsune), racoon dog (tanuki) and goblin (tengu) in three time periods - Middle Ages, Early modern period and present days. Middle Age literature is covered by collection of setsuwa legends, Early modern literature by writings of kibyoshi genre and Present days by japanese comics published after the year 2000. The aim of the first part of the thesis is to briefly outline the development of depicting of the supernatural beings and introduce analysed beings. Second part deals with analysis of the individual characters. Methodology is analysis and comparation of the Literary Characters in the context of Structural Narratology.
Problems of the genre fulfillment in Farsa theologal by Diego Sánchez de Badajoz
NOVÁKOVÁ, Eliška
The presented bachelor thesis deals with the genre of farce in the play Farsa theologal by Diego Sanchez de Badajoz. In the first part, the term farsa will be discussed regarding its characteristics, content and use from the beginnings of the Spanish theatre will. Later, the work is focused on the features that were typical of contemporary farce genre plays at that time. In the second part of thesis, the aim is to locate for the presented features in the particular work from the beginnings of the Spanish theatre, namely The Farsa theologal.
Non-voters in elections to Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic 2013 and their motivation to electoral absence
Nováková, Eliška ; Vinopal, Jiří (advisor) ; Sedláčková, Markéta (referee)
The issue of this thesis is to chart the motivations of non-voters for not attending the election to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. This election had the second lowest turnout in the history of the Czech Republic in this type of election which is considered by the citizens to be the most important type of election. A decreasing turnout can be a threat to a proper functioning of democracy. In the theoretical part of the paper, the theory of functioning democracy and the theory explaining the decreasing turnout are introduced. According to several studies, there is a difference between younger and older generation, so I decided to explore this difference. Therefore, fifteen semi-structured interviews with non-voters have been conducted to detect the cause of this situation. Collected sample contains nine younger non-voters and six older ones. The data were analyzed according to the rules of grounded theory. The product of this analysis is a typology of non-voters and their main motivations for non-voting and a scheme of participating factors. The result of the analysis suggests that there is a difference between younger and older generation. Keywords: Non-voters, election behavior, politics, motivations
Use of Botanical Garden of faculty of science Charles University in Prague in teaching biology and natural history
Nováková, Eliška ; Rajsiglová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Radka (referee)
This diploma thesis is focusing on use of Botanical garden of Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague by teachers as a destination for class field trips. Teachers use this garden with different objectives and different intensity. This diploma thesis provides a summary of this using by the processing of the survey, which took place in elementary school teachers and high school teachers. This work is testing the following hypotheses: 1. Teachers with length of practice above twenty years use the field trip less than teachers with length of practice under twenty years. 2. Men use guided tours more than women. 3. High school teachers use geopark for tour more than elementary school teachers. 4. Teachers with length of practice above twenty years visit gardens other than Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague and the Botanical Garden in Prague Troja less than teachers with length of practice under twenty years. The thesis summarizes basic information about the field trip as an organizational form. The thesis also deals with the Botanical Garden of faculty of science Charles University in Prague, its collections, history, and possibilities of using in schools.
Design and Construction of Flow-through Detection Cell for Nephelometric Determinations and Its Application for Determination of Sulphate and Promethazine
Nováková, Eliška ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Nesměrák, Karel (referee)
The aim of this thesis has been design, construction and application of a flow-through nephelometric detection cell based on photodiode as a sensor and a laser source. The developed device has been tested and its function has been proven on the determination of sulphate by flow injection analysis with nephelometric detection after precipitation by barium chloride. The results achieved were comparable with those obtained by spectrometric detection. Furthermore, the device has been successfully applied to the determination of promethazine based on formation of its insoluble ion associate with bromophenol blue. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Laser welding of plastics
Nováková, Eliška ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The bachelor presents a brief characteristics of thermoplastics welding methods followed by a more detailed description of laser welding of thermoplastics, i.e. laser description, division and types. Then, conditions and parameters of welding are defined. The experimental part is focused namely on visual welding tests on a test sample. The sample consists of two types of material – pure polymethyl methacrylate and black polycarbonate – which are used in car headlamp production. For welding, a diode laser designed for thermoplastics welding was used. The main target of inspection were flaws that were visible on macroscopically enlarged images. The tested welds mostly showed porosity and air bubbles. Finally, an evaluation of the experiment is conducted.
