Project teaching - Monuments and personalities in Uhříněves

Diploma Thesis Project teaching - Monuments and personalities in Uhříněves is a project that was created with the primary school pupils as an example of the possible use of regional history in teaching. The thesis contains theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is a summary of information from available literature. In this part of the thesis is closer introduced to the benefits and importance of regional history for history teaching in primary schools , along with anchoring regional history in the curriculum. There are also shown working methods, organizational forms and teaching aids, which the teacher can use in assigning regional history teaching. The practical part presents the project itself, its preparation, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of including the problems that occurred during the project, and the possibilities of how to avoid the problem. There are also outlined options for further use of the project. The thesis includes both text and image attachments that document the project.
Use of audiovisual Equipment, Museum Pedagogy and Literature in the Teaching of Geography

His master's thesis I've divided into three parts, theoretical, practical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with the teaching of geography, educational technology and teaching aids, museum pedagogy, individual educational specificities of schools and museums and how should cooperation look like, what role in it plays the personality of the museum educator and what it is for a school and a museum benefit. And last but not least the literature, which is in my opinion an important element in the teaching of geography. In the practical part, I have described a realization of a project in which it is used didactic technology, a collaboration with the museum and work with literature. The empirical part is focused on research in basic schools in the field of educational technology. The key concepts on which the research is based, such as: modern didactic techniques, working with modern educational technology, the perception of educational technology as a means to the realization of the teaching.
Rites of passage as a theme in the history textbooks

The intention of the Diploma thesis Rites of passage as a theme in the history textbooks is analyze the history textbooks of upper primary school in terms of rites of passage. This practical part is preceded by general introduction to the issue of rituals and rites of passage. The following is a discussion of selected rites of passage, which are weddings and funerals. Selected rites of passage determine the direction which is going analysis itself textbooks. In general I am interested in themes of weddings, funerals and all other facts that are associated with the issue in analyzing textbooks. Then I find out, how and what extent selected rites of passage are presented to pupils. So that pupils gain the most information from the particular way in view of the rites of passage, I deal also possibilities to enrich a certain representation of ritual. The conclusion summarizes the main reasons for the changes of rites of passage that appear in the history books for upper primary school. Projekt teaching:The Greatest Czech man according to pupils of 9th in elementary school

The main focus of the work is to search for the greatest Czech, according to opinion of the 9th grade students. Other goal was to create and apply a project, through which we gathered information. Another goal was to find out if the students are interested in these persons out of the school education. Two methods were used to fulfil these goals - a survey and a project. The results of survey are: 1st place - Charles Fourth, 2nd place - Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and 3rd place - Václav Havel. The survey also showed that students are in mostly interested in these persons. If they do, they use internet and documentary movies as main sources of information rather than specialised literature. The final reflection of the project indicates that students liked it and considered it as interesting.
Industrial Revolution: efficiency of the project teaching compared to lecture method

The thesis is aimed at two different teaching methods, which are compared not only from the viewpoint of their positives and negatives, but also their effectiveness is valuated. One thematic unit from the history curriculum at lower-secondary school is chosen and two different methods are applied, one is based on lecture method, the other one involves project teaching. The effectiveness of the methods is ascertained on the basis of applying these methods in two teaching classes of elementary school. The common thematic unit is Industrial Revolution. According to the number of points every pupil achieves in the didactical test, the class with project teaching turned out better, however the difference was not so prominent. Important is that the effectiveness of both methods cannot be measured based only on number of obtained points. For this reason the author uses another evaluation of methods based on the Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives. By analysing the pupil's answers it was ascertained, that the pupils using the project teaching achieved (apart from factual knowledge) also the procedural and conceptual knowledge, which was found in their answer formulations. Terezín diaries in project teaching

This Diploma thesis deals with the use of diaries from the Terezín Ghetto in project teaching. Their use should be made through a series of worksheets designed for project teaching. The benefits and success of worksheets were tested on several groups of elementary and secondary schools. The first chapter is devoted to theoretical introduction to the issue of projects and project-based teaching, the following chapter discusses the history of Terezín, the third chapter deals with the Terezín diaries and their authors, in the fourth chapter are placed excerpts of diaries with the relevant historical context. Into the last chapter are included worksheets created on the basis of excerpts from the diaries, their solutions and evaluation for their success by students. The last pages are devoted to the work attachment list and a list of references and online resources. The work demonstrates that diaries are a good source for creating worksheets about everyday life in the Terezín Ghetto and that they bring to learning new ways of work and wider view of the issues being discussed.
Comparison of selected Czech and German High school textbooks

The topic of the presented thesis is a comparison of selected contemporary Czech and German history textbooks, designed for high schools. It analyzes the Czech and the German high school system, with a focus on the teaching history. It compares the structure of the textbooks, verbal and visual content, control methods and the adoption process of the subject matter.
Project teaching: The greatest people of Kladno

This diploma thesis deals with the project that should have introduced 14 personalities who made famous the city of Kladno and its surroundings. The project was defined for chosen students from The Grammar School of Kladno. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part relates to the issue of importance and contribution of regional history. Practical part describes in detail process and results of the project. The project contains of 14 personalities from the history of Kladno, the layout of lessons dealing with these personalities and biographies of personalities that were worked out by students as a result of the project.
History textbooks fifties and sixties of the twentieth century

The aim of the analysis is to evaluate the history books and text difficulty level of didactic facilities and textbooks mutual assessment of the level of the fifties and sixties. Intended for history teaching in each successive year of the curriculum are published every year. Their contents range of topics vary. In the early fifties was the curriculum, topics with political and ideological content. Omitted topics have been considered less important. The highest number of discarded political and ideological issues was in 1957 after the release of political society. Critical analysis were subjected to a curriculum from the fifties and sixties in the first and second chapters. The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of syntactic and semantic complexity of the textbooks and evaluates the performance of text for teaching. It also monitors didactic facilities of textbooks. This chapter is crucial for mutual comparison of textbooks. It is the most important criterion for assessing the quality of textbooks.
