European pilgrim place in the view of 21st century
Girgelová, Jana ; Dvořáková, Markéta (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Michaela (referee)
The peregrination, the pilgrimage and the visiting of pilgrim places have always belonged to the human lives inherently. The roots of Christian pilgrim places following Jewish tradition may be probably found in Jerusalem. Currently the modern man has a need to find these places and address to them not only in pressure. This bachelor thesis describes key moments concerning the pilgrim places and their transformations in the history. The bachelor thesis is focused on the one of the most visited European pilgrim places which is situated in France - Lourdes. We include it in cultural heritage and we understand it as a part of the European identity. This place is not like other cathedrals and churches which we admire as the monuments. This place can address us spiritually. Lourdes is one of the Marian pilgrim places and it is famous thanks to Bernadette Soubirous who repeatedly had apparitions of Our Lady in 1858. The bachelor thesis also tries to represent the importance of the pilgrim places for the medieval and for the modern man and to describe their attitudes to them or how their approach has changed.
