Historical development of the Bedrich Hrozny School in Lysa nad Labem within the regional development

The thesis deals with the development of education in the town of Lysá nad Labem, taking into account the historical development of the town and the region. The thesis also describes the history of Lysá nad Labem with an emphasis on education. The aim of the thesis is to map the historical development of the oldest elementary school in Lysá nad Labem. The main source of the work are school chronicles and memorial books, which are kept in the depository of the State district archive - Nymburk, located in Lysá nad Labem. The work deals with the historical development of this school in a particular period namely the years 1878-1945. The work is of a historical character, and the original sources and archival documents were used in its creation. Methodologically, the thesis is based on the historical comparative method, as well as the analysis and synthesis. Historical work is not divided into a theoretical and practical part, but is predominantly theoretical in its character. Differentiation of teaching in a class of a primary school by a learning task

The thesis focuses on differentiation of teaching by learning tasks at primary school. The theoretical background deals with possible ways how to effectively use learning tasks for children's development and to motivace them to the other activity. Furhemore it includes competencies which enable teachers to differentiate them to create variants of learning tasks. The practical background seeks which didactic variants of learning tasks teachers use in their teaching. Role of the teacher and his/her responsibility in assessing student's maturity when enrolling in the first grade of primary school

The topic of this diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of a children enrolment to the first form of a basic school as an important milestone in their life. The theoretical part deals with the topic of the enrolment in its full scale. The author presents an overview concerning the issue of school maturity, school preparedness and their diagnostics. Further she deals with the topic of a postponement of school attendance and legislation. The main chapter of the theoretical part is the topic of competencies which a teacher of primary education should have at disposal during enrolments. In the practical part of this diploma thesis the author gives space to teachers, who, by means of a questionnaire and an unstructured interview, reflect their opinions and feelings concerning their role during enrolments. The author deals with their pedagogical competency. The teachers have an opportunity to present their opinions about the current form of the enrolment procedure. The outcome of this thesis is a discussion about usefulness of the current enrolment procedure and concrete suggestions for a change.
Forms of family-school cooperation in primary school

This diploma thesis deals with the forms of cooperation between parents and school in the school programme Step by Step. The theoretical part investigates family and school as an educational institutions and describes its historical evolution and on-going trends in a mutual communication between family and school. The major source of the Diploma Thesis is the Programme Step by Step. The theoretical part is focused on 2 basic standards critical for the quality of cooperation between school and family. Programme documents are compared both. The empiric part presents an action research focused on "Learning Agreements" as a one of the family- school cooperation. It deals with the "Learning Agreement" implementation in a certain school named X. It investigates its contribution for its contribution for children, parents, teachers and mutual cooperation. Pupils' conceptions of science and scientists and possibilities of influencing them

The aim of the diploma thesis was to describe pupils' conceptions of science and scientists and also to suggest some possibilities to influence them. In the theoretical part of the thesis common knowledge of pupils' conceptions of science and scientists is described. It also summarises researches following up these issues, and conceptions of science education at primary school in the Czech Republic and other chosen states. In the empirical part a research focused on getting information about pupils' knowledge of science and scientists and their approach is presented. The results show, that pupils' conceptions of science and scientists are heterogeneous and the role of out-of-school activities of chosen pupils was more significant than influence of school. In the final part of the thesis there are appropriate ways how to influence pupils' conceptions of the area of science at school are outlined
Teaching Foreign Languages at Primary School

The dissertation deals with foreign language teaching methods at the Primary School in the Czech, English and German environment. It includes the summary of the present basic knowledge about the foreign language teaching methods generally both in the Czech, English and German environment. Subsequently there has been presented and analysed the real use of foreign language teaching methods at the Czech Primary School at present. In conclusion there has been drawn further suggestion for a possible appropriate future development of the foreign language teaching methods at the Czech Primary School based on the research too.
Textbooks evaluation

This thesis deals with an evaluation of textbooks and their operation at school. The theoretical part clarifies the purport of the term a textbook, functions and a structure of textbooks, and describes a text of textbooks, parameters of its evaluation, and the extratextual components of textbooks. It presents methods of work with a textbook and research into textbooks. The empirical part describes a research that was aimed to learn whether textbooks fit to modern parameters of textbooks. Further, it was aimed to find out the differences between using textbooks in practice and intentions of the authors, and the reasons for making these modifications.
Individualization in Social studies and Sience in primary school instruction

The diploma thesis has a theoretically-empirical character with a focus on the empirical part. The starting point for the solution is the requirement of the primary teacher competence to work with the differentiated group of pupils, take into account different educational needs in the planning, implementation and reflection of teaching. The aim is to determine whether and how teachers fulfill the requirement of primary school in natural science lessons. Describe and evaluate the implementation of this requirement during the realization of specific thematic unit by several teachers. Methods of the content analysis, interviews and direct observation of teaching are used to fulfill the targets of the thesis. Bullying at school and how to deal with it

Diploma thesis is consists of two main parts. The first one, theoretical part, brings a summary of nowadays most recommended approaches in prevention and solution of bullying at primary school. Readers will be acquainted with a typology of victims and aggressors, myths connected with bullying and institutions which are engaged with it. The aim of the empirical part is a comparison of two Prague schools - one with anti bullying program and one without it. I chose a screening questionnaire by Dr. Michal Kolář as a research method.
