Contemporary Social Context and Possibilities of Employing Older People in Social Enterprises

(in English) The aim of this dissertation is to create an overview of elderly people employment in social businesses in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes a social entrepreneurship, defines it and gives its legal frame and examples of such businesses in Europe and in the Czech Republic. The category of the elderly is defined according to their characteristics and also according to the possible link to long term unemployment. The connection with the Age management is presented at the end of the theoretical part. The empirical part focuses on the overall situation of the elderly in social businesses and on factors possibly affecting their employment in this kind of businesses. It was found out in the research that the selected target group is one of those most at risk on the labour market. At the same time, this group is one of the least supported and monitored not only in the social businesses. However, persons 50+ may become a significant group on the labour market in the future. The final part of this thesis stresses out that it is vital to change our point of view on this target group and its support on the field of active labour market policy, but, above all, to make use of the opportunity to employ these people in social entrepreneurship which is described in this dissertation...
Social Return on Investment

This Batchelor thesis attends to analyse possibilities of using Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis in the Czech Republic. Social Return on Investment describes all impacts of the organisation, including social and environmental impacts. This analysis is frequently used especially in the countries, where there is an established concept of social economy, for example in the United Kingdom, however, this approach can be beneficial even in the Czech Republic. This essay examines the current situation in the Czech Republic, European Union and in the United Kingdom and critically evaluate the possibility of including the social economical approach into the Czech public procurement. In the practical part of this thesis the process of the analysis is described using example analysis, made for this purpose. Experience from the example analysis are used for the evaluation of benefits and limitations of SROI analysis. The Position of Volunteer in the Organize form of Volunteering and His Value for the Relationship with the Client

The work focuses on the organized form of volunteering in social services. Theoretical part is concerned with the phenomenon of volunteering in social services and organized forms of work with volunteers Practical part focuses on the attitude of volunteers themselves towards selected organization and the work they perform within the organization and answers following questions: Is organized volunteering helpful or is it rather a burdening obligation? Can volunteers see results of their work with a client? How does organized form of volunteering affects the work with the client and do volunteers appreciate this form as a way of improving their work with the client? The research is conducted mainly by doing interviews and via questionnaires.
Basic Income and Its Possible Introduction in the Czech Republic

This dissertation concerns the concept of basic income. It explains what basic income is, how the idea to introduce it came about and describes its position in the world throughout history. It addresses the arguments in favour of and against introducing it. It deals with concepts that are related to basic income such as negative income tax, participatory income, partial basic income or participatory capital, and compares them to the basic income concept. It presents the experimental introduction of basic income, as it has already been seen across the world, or will be in the future. It also deals with the parameters of current social policy in the Czech Republic. It describes the current benefits that would be affected by the introduction of basic income. Social farming

The aim of the thesis is to present the concept of social farming and to see if it is a suitable method of social integration of people with health and social disadvantages. It is an innovative approach that brings together two concepts: multifunctional agriculture and social services. The theoretical part of the thesis clarifies the idea of social economy and social business. It also focuses on social farming in the Czech Republic and Europe. It defines its theoretical background, actors and sources of funding. The thesis examines the link between agricultural activities and social work, benefits and limits of the concept for employees, farmers and the local community, and further focuses on the current problems that social farming in the Czech Republic is facing and that hinder its development. The data was obtained through semi- structured interviews. The results of the research showed countless benefits for all involved. The biggest disadvantage was the ignorance of the concept and the associated underestimation in society.
Homelesses with regress to the social services

This thesis concerns repeated returns of homeless people to social services. The theoretical part focuses on the description and the problem areas of homeless people, cultural-historical development of homelessness in Czech lands - defines the term of social services and discusses the model of work with the target group in Poland. At the end of the theoretical part a Center for homeless people the Bohuslav Bures social services center (BBSSC) Salvation Army is presented, in this way methods of work with the target group are demonstrated, the way of keeping documentation is described and the analysis of the shelter home relevant to the theme of the work are publicized. The research carried out in the practical part looks for factors which have caused the return of the former users of social services. For the purposes of the work the phenomenon of returning is studied in persons, who in the period of 2007 - April 2012 used a shelter home in BBSSC in Salvation Army, left for commercial housing and after their departure they come back to BBSSC within one year as candidates for a social service. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the process of planning the patients discharge from acute care to after care to provide the best care possible with focus on the need of the inpatient. The first part of the thesis explains the history and present state of connection between social and health areas but mainly deals with the position of medical social worker who connects both areas and who cares about discharge planning. The life of seniors in different types of settlements in Vysočina Region

(in English) The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare selected aspects of life of seniors living in different types of settlements in the Vysočina Region. The compared settlements are the county town of Jihlava, the former district town Pelhřimov, and Kamenice nad Lipou which is a municipality with an authorized municipal office. The work consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with terms related to senior age, the elderly, meaningfulness of life, active ageing, and demographics of the Czech Republic. The main sources used were reference books, Fram planning documents and other documents from the areas of the research. The practical part contains the actual research, which consists of a semi-structured questionnaire and a personal observation of specific age groups of seniors in the monitored areas. The outcomes of the research describe availability of social and health services in the settlements, aspects of life which are important to seniors and ways the requirements for the quality of life of seniors in those locations are fulfilled. Comprehensiveness and Continuity of Services for Individuals with Disabilities

Key words: Disability, mental retardation, social services, comprehensiveness, continuity, availability. Abstract (in English): The aim of the diploma thesis is to map the needs of persons with disabilities with a focus on persons with mental retardation from birth until the end of their life and also quantity, diversity and quality of social services with emphasis on continuity and comprehensiveness in the former district town of Rychnov nad Kneznou. In this thesis, I will focus on the challenges and needs of families in which a child with disabilities was born and the amount of support and care that the child received in the past and gets in the present. Also, I point out the difficulties associated with the availability of social services for people with disabilities and their families in a village located 20 km from the district town or regional town. In the practical part, I perform empirical investigation of families with children with disabilities where some of them will come from the district town and the surrounding area and some of them from more isolated parts of Rychnov region.

EICHLEROVÁ, J. Factors affecting vigor and burnout syndrom of volunteers in the organization LATA. Prague: Charles university in Prague, fakulty of arts, 2017. 101 s. Dissertation. Burnout syndrome is a condition of emotional exhaustion. Its prevention is very essential for both overall health and effective performance at work. The theoretical part is primarily divided into two parts. In the first I deal with burnout syndrome - its definition, causes, symptoms, stages, risk factors, protective factors and neutral factors and prevention of this phenomenon. The following section is devoted to opposites of burnout syndrome most of which deal with Vigor (enthusiasm) according to Shirom. The next two chapters are explaining research methods to measure burnout and enthusiasm with which I operate in the empirical part of the work. The research methods I use are MBI and SMVM questionnaires. Then I describe work of the LATA organization which became the source of my research. I worked only with volunteers of this organization where I also previously worked as a volunteer. Empirical part then examines the burnout syndrome rate and enthusiasm rate of volunteers from the organization LATA.
