Nonlinear buckling analysis of a flue gas pipe
Jelínek, Jan ; Vincour, Dušan (referee) ; Létal, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the nonlinear analysis of stability loss of flue gas pipe. This pipe is a part of desulphurization line. The thesis describes the creating of a simplified FEM model. It also describes the setting of the boundary conditions of the model for few loading cases. These cases differ by preference for one of the load as dominant. There are proposed several variants of stiffening by light ring stiffener. The work is finished by comparing the resistance to the stability loss of the reinforced variants and unreinforced model of flue gas pipe.

Between the cross and the cup. The press of the Czechoslovak People's Party at the time of the Marmaggi affair
Jelínek, Jan ; Randák, Jan (advisor) ; Čechurová, Jana (referee)
Presented thesis deals with content of press connected to Czechoslovak People's Party by the time of so called Marmaggi affair and the campaign in 1925 elections to the National assembly. It stands on a premise, that followed texts mirrored positions of czech political catholics, whose main representative was the People's Party. Party leadership set from a start course of conciliation and loyalty toward Czechoslovakia. This direction had gone difficult by several factors, among them anti-catholic wave following formation of new state and first months of its existence. Even after it's decline anti-clerical and anti-catholic tendencies didn't disappear, as we can find their bearers among the leading figures of the republic, including the president Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. This research raises the question of the process of the political-catholic press receiving policy of the party leadership policy of loyalty toward state, in time of rupture between the republic and catholic church, which strenghtened the tension between loyalty toward the state and the patriotism on one side and catholicism on the other. How did the catholic journals comment the course of the party? Did they try evaluate, defend or criticise? Did they suggest an alternative to it? Was expressed any attitude towards the state even by...
Working conditions of employees in the selected home for the elderly
Jelínek, Jan ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tůmová, Kateřina (referee)
This bachelor's thesis investigates working environment of employees of one particular retirement home. The jobs being looked at are as follows - social worker, activation worker and certified nursing assistant. These spots are divided into two groups, the more professional and creative one and the social one. I define the working environments through qualitative semi-structured interviews. To discover the environment in question, it is important to describe the content of the job and the tasks that one doing it is obliged to fulfil, the well-being of the ones doing it and the personal relationships in the workplace. I discover the characteristics of the jobs taking internal regulations, legal definition of the job and interviews into account. Using the workplace wellbeing theory, which consists of five basic dimensions, I describe the working conditions of the jobs in question. Those dimensions are used to examine the aspects that have major influence on the workers' wellbeing. Those are the ones that concern the employees' career ambitions, physical demands on them and the influence they have on their physical state, how the job is socially, how much the workers make for a living and how they fit in their communities. I will study personal ties between employees through the theory of positive...

Suitable methods of data prepration for mutistream compression
Jelínek, Jan ; Žemlička, Michal (advisor) ; Falt, Zbyněk (referee)
This work focuses on compression algorithm called multistream compression. We have tried to improve this algorithm to be competitive with other commonly used compression algorithms. We have also tried to combine it with well-known transformations like BWT or MTF to efficiently handle text files. Another part of the research was compose characters into bigger parts and transform the result by multistream compression. We have tried blocks of constant length like bigrams and blocks of variable length like syllables or words. Last experiments was with small changes of MSC algorithm and compare them with the original algorithm.
Planning Solar Array Operations on the ISS
Jelínek, Jan ; Barták, Roman (advisor) ; Vilím, Petr (referee)
This work focuses on the problem of planning solar array operations on the International Space Station. The goal is to find a viable orientation for ten joints which attach panels to the station. These orientations and modes must satisfy various constraints and the final schedule should also take into account certain preferences. This is a task suitable for automated planning and scheduling, but new technologies are gaining very slowly in the field of the human spaceflights. In this work we will analyze the current solution of this problem and then we will propose a new algorithm that will exploit techniques of automated planning and scheduling. In the contrast with the original greedy algorithm, the suggested algorithm initially finds any solution and then tries to improve it by optimazing partial objective functions. Due to the size of the search space, the search attempts are limited by the time limit. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Identification of Terpenoid Resins in Artworks by Gas Chromatography
Jelínek, Jan ; Hrdličková Kučková, Štěpánka (advisor) ; Beneš, Pavel (referee)
Terpenoic varnishes are used in artworks since 11th century. Their task is to protect the artworks against the adverse effects of the environment and frequently they complete the artistic page. Although synthetic varnishes are currently widely used, especially in the case of modern art, the use of natural materials is still widespread and not only in the restoration of historical paintings and polychromy. In order to prepare terpenoic varnishes, rich supply of natural resins is used (damare, mastic, copals, colophony etc.). These resins differ in their composition and therefore they have various physical properties such as fragility, solubility, and not least the various darkening of varnish. For these reasons, it is necessary to know their composition, in order to be safely removed during restoration and subsequently replaced by a varnish of the same material composition. Gas chromatography is the most widely used analytical method for determination of natural resins, using a number of derivatizing reagents. The task of this thesis was to find the best separation conditions for the identification of resins by gas chromatography combined with flame ionization detector (GC-FID).
