Prediction of invasive marbled crayfish (Procambarus fallax f. virginalis) global spread
Nováková, Pavla ; Patoka, Jiří (advisor) ; Antonín, Antonín (referee)
Biological invasions are currently a global problem. They often cause a loss of biodiversity and severely disrupt the balance of entire ecosystems. One of the most dangerous among the many species of crayfish known to be invasive is the marbled crayfish or Marmorkrebs (Procambarus fallax f. virginalis Martin et al., 2010). The marbled crayfish is a major ornamental crayfish species. It is a known vector of infectious crayfish plague, which is lethal for crayfish species of non-North American origin. Marbled crayfish is also very tolerant to different water temperatures. The most important feature making it an especially dangerous invasive species, is the way of its reproduction. Marbled crayfish reproduces via apomictic parthenogenesis. Therefore, only females are able to reproduce and males of this taxon has not been recorded. This crayfish is characterised by a very quick maturation and extremely rapid growth. Even though some established populations of this taxon in the wild have already been recorded, and probability of the establishment in selected regions was evaluated, no predictions for expansion on a global scale have been conducted. The program CLIMATCH was used in this thesis to match the climate conditions between the source area (distribution of established populations of marbled crayfish in the wild) and target areas (all continents excluding Antarctica) based on temperatures during the coldest and warmest quarters of the year. The results showed that marbled crayfish can probably survive and reproduce in even colder regions of the temperate zone. The presented findings additionally indicate that temperate zones contain slightly higher potentially suitable regions than in the case of tropics. There are temperature conditions most suitable for the survival and reproduction of the marbled crayfish within Europe in comparison of the rest of the world; and the least favourable temperature conditions are within Australia. The marbled crayfish introduction and ability to survive and reproduce in the wild is a potential threat to native biota and entire ecosystems on all continents assessed. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the breeding of and the pet trade with this crayfish should be regulated by policymakers and wildlife managers by improvement of legislative restrictions (such as in the EU) and intensive future education of general public. It is obvious that the monitoring of invasive crayfish species might be continuous. Nevertheless, the most important step is to make producers and hobbyists aware of the risks related with marbled crayfish.
Using linear semiconductor detector for testing the properties of linear accelerator
Menclová, Lucie ; Nováková, Pavla (advisor) ; Koniarová, Irena (referee)
A basic requirement for all therapeutic applications of ionizing radiation is the high accuracy of delivery of the prescribed dose to the target volume of tissue healing. Each radiotherapy department must have in the quality assurance program developed methodology for testing the operational stability, which are reviewed and approved by The State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB). A part of testing the operational stability of linear accelerators is also a regular assessment and measurement of parameters of radiation field, which is done by measuring the dose profiles. The thesis presents the results of measurement and evaluation of photon beam dose profiles of a linear accelerator, measured using the line-semiconductor detector (LDA-99SC company IBA) in the automatic water phantom under the reference conditions and their comparison with results obtained from measurement with the ionization chamber under the same terms of reference. The advantage of using a linear detector is a semiconductor that consists of 99 individual detectors in one line at a distance of 5 mm from each other and is able to measure the radiation dose profile field in a much shorter time than using an ionization chamber, where only one detector output can measure dose point after point. Usage of any other independent system for...
Personal Characteristics of Soldiers in Armed Forces of the Czech Republic and Their Correlation with Self-esteem
Nováková, Pavla ; Dvorský, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hátlová, Běla (advisor)
3 Abstract: The name of Thesis: Personal characteristics of soldiers in Armed Forces of the Czech Republic and their corelation with self-esteem. The Goal of the Thesis: The primary goal of this thesis is found out values the personal factors of persons, who entered in the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic and compare them with normal population scale. The secondary goal is found out the value of self-esteem and its corelation with the factor extravesion and conscienti- ousness. Methods: Questionnaries in writing are used for collection of data and to identify values of personal factors and values of self-esteem. The collected data are statisti- cally processed and evaluated. They are analyzed. For our research are used Rosen- berg Self-esteem Scale and NEO - FFI. Results: The results are presented in graphs, tabs and are with the comment and analyzed. The results show the diferences among the respondents and population and the relation among personal factors and self-esteem. Key Words: Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, Young Adulthood, Personal Factors, Self-esteem
A dancer's lifestyle as a part of dance medicine
Nováková, Pavla ; JANEČEK, Václav (advisor) ; PUCHOWSKA, Sara Maria (referee)
This thesis deals with dancer′s lifestyle as a part of the dance medicine. It is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on notions of dance medicine and lifestyle and relationships between them. Lifestyle consists of two main components - nutrition and psychology. These ingredients include between disciplines, which is engaged in dance medicine. The second part focuses on the physical component of lifestyle - nutrition and proper diet. Several chapters described the importance of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, trace elements, vitamins, phytochemicals and fluids in the dancer′s diet. Part of these chapters are also dietary guidelines. A special chapter is devoted to alcohol and energy drinks and their effects on health and performance of the dancer. As conclusion of this part of the thesis describes the Healthy Plate as a tool that can help when the dancers focus on issues of healthy eating. The third part of this work deals with the emotional and psychological component of the dancer′s lifestyle. There is a description of the issues of: stress and burnout in the life of a dancer, Female Athlete Triad (concerning girls and women), sleep and his in/sufficiency, issues of recovery and relaxation.
Suggestions for Reduction of Uneployment in the district of Blansko
Nováková, Pavla ; Sychrová,, Daniela (referee) ; Zinecker, Marek (advisor)
This thesis is focused on unemployment in the district of Blansko. The theoretical part deals with to description of theoretical knowledge related to labour market, unemployment and state employment policy. The analytic part focuses on the statistical and graphical description of data concerning the current state of unemployment. The last part is devoted to proposals of solutions that could lead to a reduction in unemployment in this district.
The Innovation of Marketing Mix
NOVÁKOVÁ, Pavla
The aim of this thesis "Innovation of Marketing Mix" was to analyze and evaluate the current situation of the marketing mix of a selected company and to propose its modification. At first, an accounting company have been selected, described and STEP analysis and Porter's five forces model have been used to understand external environment of the selected company. The conclusions drawn from these analyzes were used as inputs to the SWOT analysis which helped to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the company as well as the opportunities and threats in the market. Based on these analyses, it was possible to propose improvement of the company marketing mix. Then, an improvement of services through remote accounts access for customers to the corporate server was proposed. This service should eliminate the weaknesses of the company (mainly capacity overload due to necessary data coding) which should be done by speeding up the process of accounting documents input. For the economic evaluation a model example was calculated. Results show that the product innovation will mean benefit for both the company and its customers.
