The Conversion Efficiency of Different Kinds of Energy into Electrical Energy and the Possibility of its Accumulation
Ostruška, Jan ; Bartošík, Tomáš (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issues of the conversion efficiency of different kinds of energy into electric energy. Firstly, the thesis presents a brief introduction into types of energy sources and their capacity. Then, conversion efficiency of particular direct and indirect conversion is scrutinized, pointing to factors which affect conversion efficiency. The next chapter deals with the possibilities of accumulating electric energy. These are analysed as far as conversion efficiency is concerned as well and the end of the chapter concludes with comparison of these particular possibilities. Booth parts of the process – power generation and its accumulation – are connected in comprehensive scheme of energy conversions. The thesis develops on this scheme by mathematic description of its components and by designing a simulation programme, which would show the flow of energy in the scheme.
The Autonomous House or Living Grid-off
Chlebný, Radek ; Šlezingr, Jan (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with energy self-sufficiency focusing on the independence of the electric grid. Basic line emanating project form a concrete proposal for autonomous energy supply system. Emphasis is placed primarily on photovoltaic systems, electric energy accumulation and selection of individual components of such a system. Another important part of the thesis is also an economic evaluation of design variations. The thesis also deals with a market research, and thereof derived benefit assessment of each technology. The accompanying chapters are then devoted to the history of autonomous life style or classification of buildings according to their energy performance.
Utilization of biomass for energetics
Bažant, Zdeněk ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with processing and utilization of biomass energy in the power industry. There are described single types of processing of biomass. It is possible to find a comparison between countries in EU and other countries from all over the world as far as utilization of biomass is concerned. Another part of this thesis is the comparison of the main economics evaluations which are generally used for efficiency evaluation of planned projects involved in the power industry. Due to the rising prices of biomass and other kinds of fuel, there is a progress of prices of gas, biomass and coal for the last five years. The practical part is the evaluation of gas boiler exchanged for biomass boiler. The calculation is based on real data taken from invoice from heating season. At the conclusion there’s the general viewpoint on biomass and its development.
Design of electric control small dispersed sources on the basis PLC
Morávek, Jan ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the basic theoretical knowledge on the problems of controlling the small hydro power plants. Briefly lists the basic requirements for the control system and provides an overview of the available automation systems. The main part of the thesis describes the requirements for the control system and its specific design based on the Unitronics PLC.
Design and production of sample panels with system installation Ego-n
Vašíček, Martin ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of systems for intelligent building, focused on wiring system, division of them and comparison of their differences. The advantages of these systems like comfort, energy reduction, etc. are also mentioned. Nowadays several standards of systems for intelligent building exist as KNX/EIB or LON, therefore thesis concerns to trade-off these standards too. Main part of the thesis is focused on system Egon made by company ABB where the system concept as well as bus modules are described that allow different functions, mutual connection of modules and their programming. Tutorial panel with ABB Ego-n wiring system, which will be used for study purpose, is designed in the practical part of the work. It includes scheme of the panel, electric linkage of components and photographs of constructed panel as documentation. In the final part of the work two examples of laboratory exercise for installation and setting are listed, including programming description.
Possibility of using LabView for simulation and calculation of the energy balance of a hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell
Fryda, Daniel ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Šlezingr, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the calculation of the characteristics of hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell and their simulation in LabVIEW. It is divided into several parts. At the beginning thesis clarifies the issues of fuel cell and contributes to a better understanding of its activities. It explains what a fuel cell actually is, what is the principle of its work, describes its components, access to its history and its development to the present. Further on the thesis divides fuel cells into the different types and deals with deeper hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell. The fourth chapter is devoted to its use in practice and in laboratory education . Another part is focused on the LabVIEW program where is described the principle, use and basic parts of the program. In the practical part is implemented the model of the laboratory task in LabVIEW program. In chapter no. 6 are developed the operating instructions of the program and described in detail the creation of the model. The aim of this bachelor thesis is creation of an overview of fuel cells, their properties and possibilities of using for practice and laboratory education and then simulation of the laboratory task in LabVIEW program which is based on measured data and the characteristics of the hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell. This laboratory task can be used as teaching material for students in the Department of Electrical Power Engineering.
Cogeneration influence on power industry and power market in Czech Republic
Dudáš, Michal ; Cerman, Marek (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
The main goal of this master’s thesis is to find out the impact of future development in combined heat and power technologies, especially the impact on power market in Czech Republic regarding to historical development of photovoltaics and subsidy policy. There are three scenarios of installed power growth designed including calculations of renewable energy source financial fee as well as overall evaluation. The paper also deals with current status of combined heat and power technologies in Czech Republic, European Union and USA as well as legislature framework of CHP in Czech Republic and EU. There are also kinds of state grants described. In economical part of the paper there are NPV’s of particular cogeneration units calculated. The calculations were made both with current investment costs and reduced investment costs.
Design of snow-slip seeker
Macháček, Jan ; Sládek, Josef (referee) ; Zvonek, Miroslav (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis concerns with a design of avalanche transceiver, which uses current technologies, tries to predict their development, combines them in new contexts and focuses on functionality and relations between inner content and outer form. Concept respects ergonomic rules and tries to develop a new attitude to the construction of the avalanche transceiver.
Using of Renewable Energy Sources for Family House Supply
Varmuža, Jan ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This work is concerned to analysis and evaluation of present recoverable energy resources and position EU to them. In study is provided comparison of recoverable resources (biomass, water, wind, environment energy, and sun). The details are noted for all single cases. As the next addition are included various techniques „how to obtain and convert them“. In study are also noted which necessary equipments must be used and their proper location. In practical part is done comparison of barrier-layer photocell from polycrystalline and monocrystalline silicon and water insulating foil „EVALON SOLAR“. For comparison was taken only produced energy. Next step was financial analysis of each single system and comparison with pay-off in case that invested sum (actual price) was placed to bank under time deposit and share capital fund. During analysis of financial evaluation was found, that more suitable is system from polycrystalline silicon. Because of investors main condition is financial aspect, so for realization will be recommended system from polycrystalline silicon.
Utilization of biomas in power plants in Czech Republic
Červinka, Petr ; Mastný, Petr (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
The main idea of this project is get to know a distribution of biomass .We will serve out biomass acording to its types and using of it, we are going to compare biomass between the Czech republic and Europian Union. In this project we will inform you about a technology of burning with the fosill cooler. We will write about energic and economic classification too. Actual europian trend faces to more frequently using of a renewable recources energy, where the biomass is the most important part.
