Communicating curriculum reform to parents during their childrens first time class entry

This work is theoretical in nature, no empirical research is included. The text summerizes the state of the educational reforms in Czech Republic and the ways in which those are being communicated to parents of children in school age. Definitions of key components of the reform are provided.Emphasis is put on roles played by children entering school and their parents. These roles influence the style of communication between school and parents. The support of parents is critical in achieving success for the proposed changes. Therefore, a central part of this work treats communication flows and their quality. The British case is studied to provide a concrete proposal of the way communication of a school reform has been handled.
Experiential education and its place at school

According to its orientation, the thesis can be clasified among theoretical-empiric works. It deals with experiential education at basic and secondary schools and grammar schools (gymnasiums). It represents an attempt to create an empirical probe into these type of schools with aim to find whether the schools have teachers that apply experiential education into the educational process. Further the guestion is raised as to what teachers from experiential education use, what proved good, where they see problems and whether they learn experiential education in their practice. The metod of questionnaire with parametrical questions in guantitative part and method of questionnaire with possibility of free answers in qualitative part were used for the search. Investigation proved that less than half of the interviewed pedagogues use experiential education in their practice though some of those who do not use this method would gladly introduce it into the process of education. The teachers mostly use activities oriented to support work in groups and improvement of interpersonal relations and the activities conclude with final analysis. Civics and sectional themes of framework education programme for basic education

Comprehension of thematic sections of sectional themes is an integral part of production of the school education program. One of the possibilities is a comprehension of integration of sectional theme to educational section. The way how to meaningfully include sectional theme " Multiethnic education" into training subject of education subject " Civics" presents this work. Suitable methods, subject matter are also presented for realisation of this sectional theme, including example of concrete comprehension of theme " Multiethnic education" to education.
Working with clients in Camphill - social and educational aspects

The subject of this paper is Camphill movement and the approach towards people with special needs, a holistic approach towards care as a currative and educational process in the daily life of a community. The first part of this paper focuses on the foundation of the first Camphill community, which serves as a model to all the other Camphill communities built in the following years until present day. It explains the philosophy of Camphill movement, its principles and ethos. This paper also deals with the clients and co-workers, the inner structure of community life in Camphill, including the important role of a ritual in the daily life of a community. It looks at the different therapies available to clients in Camphill and also briefly describes some of the economical aspects, administration and management side of Camphill as an international organisation. The last part of this paper is a contemplation on the relationship between a client and a therapist and the ways in which this essential iteraction translates into the life of a Camphill community. Finally, the evaluation suggestions in the form of an unstructured inventory of topics and issues currently perceived as controversial.
The personality and social development of a client in a therapeutic community

This diploma work consists of theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part deals with drug addiction and describes the options of its treatment with a special regard to psychotherapeutical approach which are commonly used when working with drug addicts. Later on, I summarize current knowledge of a therapeutic community as one of the most effective methods of treatment and social rehabilitation of drug addicts. Therapeutic community is a specific form of group therapy exploiting social learning, democratic decision making and therapeutic potential of the clients themselves. The therapeutical process is aimed at personal and social development of each individual which should lead to a complex change of his/her lifestyle. These goals can be reached by means of various instruments including structured programmes, regime and community activities. The practical part of this work describes the empirical research which examined the clients' perception of their personal and social development in TC as well as the views and opinions of their therapeuts.
Cross-sectional topics mass media education for basic education

The day-to-day part of our lives are media, which make for distribution of information, offer us some products and have an important impact on our every day activity. It is more and more evident, that everybody should have some kind of medial literacy that becomes one of the most important competence. Its insertion was institucionalized under the name of Mass media education which takes shape of independent learning subject or of one part of the others. 88 Within the reform's efforts, the Mass media education was included in Framework education program for basic education as cross-sectional topic. Based on this educational program, schools had to work out their own special program until September of 2007. The first target of Mass media education is to draw up the functioning of medial texts, to explain how they participate in generating of meanings and mainly to make clear the activity of media organizations and institutions. The second target is to discribe how the public accept some medial products, technologies, institutions and how this public, being every day in contact with media, makes its own significations. In October and in November the empirical survey took place and its aim was to find out teacher's attitudes towards Media education and to make clear how they managed with its integration.
Global and development education within school curriculum

Bachelor thesis deals with themes of global development education. The themes are shown as a part of Framework educational programme. It introduces some ways how to integrate this education to the teaching and describes several forms of organization and methods useful for it . Final ly there is a comparison of this education in Czech Republ ic and in Norway.
Trough media education to media literacy

The theme of bachelor thesis "Through Media Education to Media Literacy" is a new subject in field of education: media education. The first part is briefly overlooking the history of media education worldwide and implementation of media education in Czech environment. The thesis introduces questions of media literacy and presents media education as one of Cross-curricular Subjects as it is understood by Framework Education Programme of Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic. From strictly didactic point of view the media education is presented in chapter Principal Elements of Methodology Construction and in chapter Method of Media Education. Second part deals with education of teachers in field of media education and projects of non-governmental agencies providing their education. This part of thesis also offers an overview of methodical handbooks published to be used while teaching media education in Czech system of schools. The last chapter compares three most important handbooks mentioned above.
Drama education in experience education

This thesis "Drama education in experience education" tries to provide information about experience education, its history and main principles. For that goal it is based on literature and experience of the author. Furthermore, it describes role playing as a main method of drama in education. From the accessible literature it chooses key terms and tries to point on the importance of role playing used in experience education, with its advantages and risks. In the fourth chapter it is described in detail how exactly can be role playing used in the methods of experience education. The author also attempts to make her own systematic approach to the whole theme and suggests new concepts.

The diploma work attemps to resolve the question of the environment and mankind's relationship with it, curricular reform on the whole, and looks at the module subjekt of environmental education in school educational programmes and in general. The subsequent empirici study conducted provils informations about including this module subjekt in educational programmes and about his practical usage in selected primary schools.
