Title: Parents as a factor in education from the point of view of selected teachers of secondary school Author: Pavla Prskavcová Department: Department of Education Supervisor: PhDr. Jaroslava Hanušová, Ph.D. The thesis deals with individual experience of teachers of secondary schools in the area of communication with parents. The first part summarizes the theoretical knowledge necessary for understanding the next part of the thesis. The second part is devoted to the actual research and its results. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the reader to the current form of the teacher-parent relationship from the point of view of selected teachers through their individual experience. This is achieved through mixed methods research - surveys and semi-structured interviews with selected respondents. The results of this thesis allow the reader to be knowledgeable in the current form of functioning of the teacher-parent re- lationship at the secondary level of elementary schools in the Czech Republic. Leisure Time Activities of Children in Orphanage Dolní Počernice

The thesis focuses on leisure time activities of children living in orphanage Dolní Počernice. The aim is to describe leisure time activities in which children are engaged and to determine whether the clients are satisfied with the range of various free time activities that they can choose from. The theoretical part of the thesis covers the following subjects: institutional care in the Czech Republic; characteristics of (non)functional family; the causes of placement of the child in the orphanage; social and psychological aspects of institutional care and its influence on the individual; and the purpose of leisure time education and its functions. The empirical part explores the research methods, namely the questionnaire and the semi- structured interview that were used in order to answer the research questions. The main findings are that the children are satisfied with the free time activities and that they spend their leisure time actively. The purpose of the thesis is to contribute to the discussion concerning mindful spending of the free time of children that are placed in the children's home. It emphases the importance of free time for prevention of pathological behavior and stresses the necessity of attaining free time competencies for improving the quality of children's lives. History of the School in Velké Karlovice - Miloňov

The thesis recounts the history of the village school of Velké Karlovice - Miloňov. The thesis is historical/empirical. The empirical part aims to use qualitative research to discover how the people of the region, the pupils of the school, perceived education in this hard, mountainous part of Wallachia. Their responses are compared to records of the Miloňov school chronicles. The historical part aims to present the results of a literary summary of the history of education in the Wallachia region and a comprehensive study of the history of the Miloňov Valley school. The thesis also covers the replica of the building of the Miloňov school built in the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Included in the thesis is also an interview of the curator and expert guarantor responsible for the the construction of the museum replica. The replica building of the school in the Wallachian Open Air Museum offers a wide variety of educational programmes for schools. The appendix of the thesis includes a worksheet for first-graders that can be used as a part of the "Welcome to school" event in the Museum.
