Corporate Social Responsibility of Starbucks

The thesis is focused on corporate social responsibility of Starbucks company. Theoretical part includes theoretical background of CSR, offers view of the problematic from several angles. One subchapter compares arguments provided by supporters and opponents of CSR. Practical part deals with CSR of Starbucks company. In the beginning, the firm is introduced and the main business activities are specified. Subsequently, their individual activities in various areas of CSR are described. The thesis is focused on global CSR activities, on activities in the US and activities in the Czech Republic. Finally the thesis offers analysis and recommendations focused on firm's activities in the Czech Republic.
The Impact of Non-Tariff Barriers of International Trade on Tobacco Industry

The bachelor thesis deals with the problematic of non-tariff barriers on international trade, particularly with their influence on tobacco industry. The main goal is to analyze current situation on the basis of theoretical findings and historical evolution. The first part of the thesis is combination of theory and historical context for both non-tariff measures and tobacco industry. The result is description of current status of tobacco industry in global markets. The primary point of the second part of the thesis is the analysis of non-tariff barriers on contemporary tobacco industry in USA, China, Australia and in Czech Republic. Higher concerns on situation in Czech Republic are based on fact that the common regulations of EU are taking the main point in local tobacco-related legislation. Ways of non-tariff regulation of tobacco industry have been identified based on collected findings and also the possible outline of future evolution has been suggested.

Master's thesis on the Business environment in Colombia and operation of Applied Meters, as on a given market deals with the analysis of the business environment and its impact on the selected company and prospects of its operations in Colombia in the future. The emphasis is on linking theoretical knowledge about the territory Colombia, obtained under the PEST analysis with their practical application to the action of the market through a SWOT analysis. Introductory section describes the different components of the business environment in terms of political, economic, socio-cultural and technological. The main part of the thesis is the introduction of company Applied Meters, a.s., revealing the motives for entering the market in Colombia and the implications of the impact of individual components of the business environment in Colombia on its business in a given area. Deduction highlights the prospects of the selected company on the Colombian market in the future.
Foreign trade of the Czech Republic and Egypt

The bachelor thesis is focused on evaluation of mutual foreign trade between the Czech Republic and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The introduction is about Egypt's general facts. There are described natural environmental conditions followed by the chapter on the Egyptian population. The next section is about political development since the establishment of the republic. Arab spring is mentioned too. The main part analyses the Egyptian economy in conjunction with foreign relations. Egypt's foreign trade and its impact on the economy is the next topic. The last chapter consists of diplomatic and economic relations between Egypt and the Czech Republic.

Small and medium-sized companies in Italy --the backbone of the economy or an obsolete production system? Analyse and prediction of the future development. This thesis is focused on the problems of small and medium-sized companies in Italy in the actual context of globalization and strong competion, especially in the traditional italian industries. Moreover, the political situation in the country is quite unstable and together with the omnipresent bureaucracy the everyday life is more difficult for the companies. In the first part I introduce the history backgrounds of the small and middle-sized companies and also the italian phenomenon "distretti industriali" -- indutrial districts. I also dedicated the first chapter to the specific features of family companies. In the second part the main social-economic problems of the country are described as well as some possible strategies in the context of the state export-focused programmes coordinated on the EU level. With the help of some companies that agreed to answer my questionary I tried to analyse the situation in state assistance to these companies In the last part, the reactions and answers of the companies are summed-up.

The thesis is focused on trade of European Union with dual-use goods. Dual-use goods is goods that can be misused for production of weapons of mass destruction. For this reason the trade with dual-use goods is regulated. The purpose of thesis is to analyse the environment of dual-use goods' trade and assess whether the control of the export is sufficient. The thesis includes the analysis of development of trade with dual-use goods.

The methods are divided according to time aspect to short-term, middle-term and long-term. Moreover, it engages in assessing internal rating of this type of clients and describing loan process.

Services are an essential part of all economies and have a great influence on the development and growth of the economic system. During the last thirty years international trade in services was allowed thus trade in this category become more and more important. The purpose of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive picture of the role of services in the European Union. This thesis also describes and explains the process of liberalization of services at the international level and current importance of trade in services across the EU with emphasis on the most often traded service category and the most important exporters and importers of this community.
ASEAN - position and linkage in international trade (with emphasis on the EU)

The principal objective of the work is to compare the integration process of ASEAN with EU, USA and Japan, with emphasis on the EU. This work is divided into four main parts and at first it starts with a general description of economic integration degrees. Then a description of historical evolution of ASEAN and EU is provided. The next part of this work is dedicated to the relationships between ASEAN and EU, USA and Japan. The final chapter of this thesis contains the comparison of each integration process of ASEAN with world economic leaders. The comparison is based on the statistics of total trade volume between 1985 and 2012 and it compares the integration process of EU and ASEAN with ASEAN and USA and Japan. This thesis also focuses on the EU clause about human rights and how this fact affected the integration process between EU and ASEAN. The results of this analysis show that the historically strong economic position of The United States and Japan in Southeast Asia has been partially eliminated by EU in the last few years.
Franchising with a focus on gastronomy

The theoretical part introduces the main characteristic of the franchising and the way of establishment of this enterprise, including the description of the important documents. This part simultaneously points out advantages and disadvantages resulting from this method of entrepreneurship. The practical part concentrates on the franchising in the practice. On an example of the particular company specialized in gastronomy (Ambiente), it shows the way of running the franchising, advantages and disadvantages and the procedure when opening a new franchise branch, including the marketing and other services.
