Simplified Basic Engineering Project of Distillation Unit
Šmarda, Michael ; Kohoutek, Josef (referee) ; Lenfeld, Petr (advisor)
The target of diploma thesis was to improve author’s theoretical and practical design knowledge of process engineering. In the diploma thesis a Simplified Basic Engineering Project of distillation unit has been developed. It was necessary to become familiar with the process technology and formal requirements of Basic Engineering Project. The most important parts of Basic Engineering Project are material and heat balances. Material and heat balances are the corner stones of distillation unit equipment design. Parameters of process equipment are presented in the form of equipment datasheets. The specification of pipelines is based on material and heat balances too. Inevitable part of Basic Engineering are Process Flow Diagram and Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (PFD & PID). Process Flow Diagram and Piping and Instrumentation Diagram include all equipment, piping and basic control loops.
Creating geometrical models of selected implants of hip joint
Kohoutek, Jan ; Vosynek, Petr (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
According to the specification, the concept of the thesis is a research study, which is supposed to present global overview of the hip joint arthroplasty. It involves a short summary of basic methods used in biomechanical measurements of bone tissue and provides a comparison among isotropic homogeneous, isotropic inhomogeneous and orthotropic inhomogeneous material models and their impact on the results of the stress-strain analyses. In the thesis, there is also a short list of popular implants used in present times as well as a few examples of creating geometrical models of some prosthesis.
Compressed air in TRW Dačice, losses restriction in compressed air distribution
Kolman, Bohuslav ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kohoutek, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis analyses origin and detection of compressed air in TRW Dačice, with focusing on looses generated by improper and unnecessary use of compressed air. All presented actions are primary dedicated for implementation in TRW Dačice. However, these principles are generally useful for every industrial company using compressed air.
Do fuel prices respond asymmetrically in the Czech Republic?
Kohoutek, Jakub ; Koubek, Ivo (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
It's a subject of extensive discussion whether or not fuel prices on gas stations respond faster on an increase of oil price than on its decrease. Though this phenomenon is widely discussed in scientific literature, there's still no study focused on an asymmetric behavior of fuel prices on the Czech market. This diploma thesis fills the gap and explores the reaction of fuel prices in response to cost shocks in the environment of the Czech Republic. At the first section of thesis, there is described several economic theories explaining asymmetric reaction - especially the theories based on consumer behavior under the imperfect information assumption and the theory of tacit collusion according to which the price of previous period provides companies on oligopolistic market with a focal price for implicit cartel agreement. In the Empirical part of the thesis, I use an error correction model allowing asymmetric reaction to analyze if the retail fuel prices in the Czech Republic really react with different lag on positive and negative cost shocks. Based on several time series of gasoline and diesel prices, presence of asymmetric price reaction was proven between wholesale and retail level of supply chain.
Vliv makroekonomických faktorů na hodnotu indexu PX
Kohoutek, Jiří
Kohoutek, J. Influence of macroeconomics factors on index PX. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2015. Aim of the thesis is theoretically and empirically explain the influence of macro-economic factors on the value of the index PX . For the analysis are used selected macroeconomic indicators and indexes of other exchanges. The time period of this data is from 2000 to 2013. The design is the least squares method and analysis of time series according to Box- Jenkins methodology . Part of this work is familiar with working on a similar theme other authors. In conclusion, results are evaluated and outlined the possibility of both the value of the index PX predict the future.
New cyanobacterial metabolites with tumor promoting potencies and interaction with other toxic compounds
Bártová, Kateřina ; Kohoutek, J. ; Adamovský, Ondřej ; Bláhová, Lucie ; Hilscherová, Klára ; Babica, Pavel ; Bláha, Luděk
In this study were investigated interaction of binary mixtures of cyanobacterial extracts and anthropogenic compounds (polyaromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls).
