Role of nurse in childhood injuries prevention

The theoretical part of this study is devoted firstly to the definition and conception of injury, which is further classified in accordance with intention, mechanism, place of origin type of accident and the location of the injury on the body. The section on injury prevention describes how to prevent injuries at the primary level (prevent the origin of injury), at the secondary level (reducing consequences) and at a tertiary level ( to minimize the aftereffects of injury). It also shows that the fall in the number of childhood injuries is insufficient in comparison with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and some Scandinavian countries where Sweden and Finland achieves the best results in injury prevention. The study also describes what is done for prevention of injuries (preventive inspection, dispensary inspection and treatement of injuries). Problems are described from the first preventive examination of a new- born child, followed by preventive examinations throughout the suckling age, the toddler age, the preschool age, the younger school age, the senior/sophomore school age until adolescence /teenagers. Violence in a medical team and its possible solutions

The aim of the thesis "Violence in a medical team and its possible solutions" is to make an outline of the essential relevant findings about the issues of mobbing and bossing and to explore the available specialized publications on this subject. The first, theoretical, part is concerned with the history of mobbing, its definition, aims and stages, bossing and its brief overview. This part also includes excerpts from already performed studies on the same or similar subject. The second, empirical, part focuses on a quantitative research and comprises the analysis of selected groups of general nurses working on the in-patient units at the University Hospital in Motol, either at children or adults departments. The purpose of the research was to find out the extent of occurrence of mobbing and bossing with the help of a questionnaire survey. The acquired data, was interpreted by means of tables and graphs and the results have been compared.
Nurse and pain

The Bachelor thesis deals with the chronic pain issues, the main point of interest therein is the pain connected with oncological diseases. The cancer pain, means of its treatment and the role of a nurse as far as the correct monitoring as the major attribute in cancer pain therapy is concerned are amongst the most important pillars of this work in theory. In terms of successful coping with pain, psycho-oncology should also be referred to as one of the pillars of the treatment with significant impact. Furthermore, the theory part informs about using the adequate coping strategies. The theory part is completed with the cancer patient description and it characterizes the specifics of nursing care for such clients. The empirical part focuses on pain intensity findings for oncological patients as well as formulating the frequency of using the coping strategies and examining the differences between the genders with regards to using these coping methods. The data, which was taken as a statistical base for the calculations of this thesis, were collected using the questionnaire method. A numeric scale was used to identify the pain intensity and the CCQ (Cancer Coping Questionnaire) was utilized to monitor coping strategies and define the frequency of their use.
Comparison of the conditions for the provision of nursing care in the Czech Republic before 1989 and in the present

The purpose of this work is to outline the progress of nursing, nursing care and nursing education. In my thesis I compare some chosen aspects of offering nursing care at internal, neurological and surgical clinics and at the University Hospital Motol in compatison with Regional Hospital in Decin. The work is dividend into two parts, theoretical part in which I focus on a brief description of the history of nursing, progress of chosen elements of offering nursing care, and nursing education and empirical part, which includes research focused on the progress of nursing in view of paramedical staff.
