Face Detection in Video on GPU
Tesař, Martin ; Nečas, Ondřej (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This work deals with task of face detection on graphic card. First part is the introduction to face detection methods focusing on detector proposed by Viola and Jones. Further, this work studies the possibilities of mapping detector's key parts on graphic card. Next part describes implementation details of designed application. The end of work include results and comparison with CPU approach. The last chapter summarizes the whole work and proposes future possibilities of development.
Complex Scene Rendering on Mobile Devices
Matýšek, Michal ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis presents optimization techniques for efficient rendering of complex scenes on mobile devices. The introductory part of the text describes Unity game engine and the topic of mobile game development using this tool. Then follows a presentation of important optimization principles and methods for terrain rendering, large scale rendering of animated objects, rendering of animated water surfaces and of other elements in the scenes. The described methods include both general principles of optimization and specific optimization approaches based on the features of Unity game engine. The implementation of presented methods is described and used in practice in the context of mobile strategy game development.
Optimized Ray Tracing
Trojan, Martin ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with optimization methods for ray tracing. There are discussed several methods of acceleration structures and method for reducing the complexity of calculating intersection with complex objects. Part of the text also deals with the ray tracing method and the concepts associated with this technique. For the purposes of this thesis have been created application, which is implemented ray tracing algorithm using a uniform grid for optimization.
Radiosity on GPU
Šabata, David ; Nečas, Ondřej (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This work deals with the radiosity algorith, a global illumination method and its implementation in OpenGL and OpenCL libraries. At rst two of the most common global illumination methods will be presented, considering radiosity as the main topic, including its usage in realtime rendering. An introduction to the libraries used will be next, followed by description of the application implemented in C++ language. In the end the ndings of this thesis and its possible improvements will be discussed.
Radar-Based Speed Measurement for Sport Events
Radoš, Daniel ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Maršík, Lukáš (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis is dedicated to speed measurement focused on sport events. In introduction of this thesis, basic principles of radar and their dividing are mentioned. Following part of thesis is dedicated to continuous wave radar, using Doppler effect and also principle of sequential signal processing, followed by resultant speed calculation of measured object. Ultimately, selected methods are implemented and tested using real data. In the end, the implemented application is evaluated and the possible continuation of this work is stated.
Lossless Image Compression
Komjáthy, Gergely ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with lossless image compression. In this paper are shown some colour models, which can be used for lossless image compression and formulas how to convert them to RGB and vica versa. You can learn predictors, how they work and discription of some of them. There is described the function of arithmetic coder, PPM coder and a brief description of Huffman coding.
Methods for Alias-Free Shadows Rendering
Posolda, Jan ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
This paper concerns aliasing removal methods during the shadow displaying. Method of shadow mapping, its principles, procedure and mainly its drawbacks in the form of aliasing development are described. For the removal of this undesirable phenomenon, several aliasing suppressing methods are described - Percentage Closer Filter, Variance Shadow Map, Convulotion Shadow Map, Exponential Shadow Map a Bilateral Filter. I conclude my work with a proposal and implementation of a demonstrative application, which demonstrates the implemented results adequately. Also, the comparison of individual methods on the basis of their quality and computational demands is included.
Debugging Tool for Shaders
Konečný, Jiří ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with implementation of a debugging and development tool for GLSL shader programming. In the text, you will find design of the application and it's implementation in Qt library. The thesis also includes performance testing with GLSL shaders. Experiments were focused on commands of application control flow in GLSL and texturing commands used in shaders. In the thesis, you will find explanation of the functionality of some shaders used in OpenGL. Application developed in this thesis, is meant to help with implementation of graphic programs programmed in OpenGL 3.3 or higher.
Simple Character Recognition
Hamrský, Jan ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This work deals with the process of text location and recognition in an image document. It discusses the matter of feature extraction and its usage in machine learning. Portion of this work is devoted to design and implementation of application for simple character recognition of machine printed text.
Player for iPhone for Educational Purposes
Klobása, Jiří ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and implementation of mobile application for iPhone that serves as a music player. The application works with meta-information to a music song and suggests their use in the process of memorization. The thesis is divided into chapters, starting with the characteristics of the target platform iOS, user interface design and its testing, principles of creating computer music and sound. The core of this thesis is to design a user interface along with the structure and use of meta-information related to a song. At the end of the thesis there is described the implementation of the application, the tests performed and possibilities for further improvements of the application.
