Orthorexia nervosa

The bachelor thesis is focusing on a relatively new disorder called orthorexia nervosa and that is why the term orthorexia nervosa is defined at the beginning of the theoretical section. Afterwards the existing diagnostic criteria are presented and special attention is paid to the factors, that support the development of orthorexia. The thesis also lists the groups, which are at risk of developing orthorexia. Furthermore, its aim is to distinguish healthy lifestyle from orthorexia in terms of pathology. The main part of this thesis focuses on comparing orthorexia with addictive behaviour, obsessive - compulsive disorder and with eating disorders. Following the findings of the previous chapters, the thesis presents methods used to treat orthorexia. The second part presents a proposal of a quantitative research project which would be carried out on university students diagnosted with obsessive - compulsive disorder. The design of this research is conceived as a correlation study and its aim is to find out whether there is a relationship between orthorexia and obsessive - compulsive disorder. Selected psychological aspects of renal transplantation

This bachelor thesis concentrates on selected psychological aspects of renal transplantation. The literary overview is focused first on the introduction to the issue of transplantation, then it compares renal transplantation with other possible forms of treatment from a psychological point of view. It also mentions selected factors influencing patient's quality of life after kidney transplantation and selected health risks after transplantation with an emphasis on their psychological side. It also briefly discusses the importance of patient's contact with medical staff. The research proposition focuses on the patient's fear of rejection, depending on his or her age, gender and type of donor. Multicouple therapy

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of multicouple conjoint therapy for couples in which occurs common couple violence. This thesis is devided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part firstly deals with the concept of common couple violence as the basis for this kind of therapy. Then it introduces current arguments for and against using this therapy. Part of this thesis are some of the researches made on this therapy. In the practical part, there is suggested research on comparing results of the multicouple therapy to the individual conjoint therapy.
Perseveration as a factor of the PTSD development

The first part of this bachelor thesis presents a brief overview of perseveration and its various manifestations. The second part presents findings about posttraumatic stress disorder, its protective and risk factors, diagnosis and treatment. The third part is devoted to the research of connection amongst these phenomenons. The empirical part presents a proposal of research, which aims to test the perseveration as a factor of posttraumatic stress disorder. Probands of this research are members of the Army of the Czech Republic, heading to a foreign military mission. The purpose of this research is to find another criterion for the selection of people who are at risk of traumatic events in their profession and to contribute to the prevention and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder.
The phenomenon of writers committing suicide

This bachelor thesis discusses the phenomenon of writers commiting suicide. Firstly, the theoretical part describes suicide as a psychological phenomenon and presents the risk factors and forms of suicidal behaviour. Great attention is given to the relation between creativity, mental disorders and suicide. Viewegh's concept of bilance suicide among writers is also presented, followed by various research projects focusing on the possible causes of writers taking their own lives. Various studies show that there is a higher percentage of suicide among writers, and especially among poets, than among other artistic careers. The key question of this thesis is whether or not is this "suicidal language" of writers displayed in their works. The psychological analysis of a literary work (e.g. linguistic predictor of suicide) is dedicated to finding answers to this question. Lastly, the limits of previous studies are presented at the end of the theoretical part of this thesis. The empirical part presents a proposal of a research project which aims to replicate previous study on prose texts. Possible limits of this research design as well as possible further research proposals are presented in the discussion. Explicit and implicit self-esteem within a given range of clients with anxiety disorders: quantitative and qualitative analysis with emphasis on Rorschach method

The thesis focuses on the issue of self-esteem in clients diagnosed with anxiety disorders. While this condition belongs to the most common mental illnesses, the role of the patient's self-esteem has not been sufficiently researched. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the relation between anxiety and self-esteem, and to examine whether clients with so called Other Anxiety Disorder manifest specific differences in their level of self-esteem. In the theoretical part we summarize the key findings in the domain of anxiety disorder research; we further compare the different psychological approaches to the issue of self-esteem. There is a particular focus on authors who explore the possible causes and features of self-esteem deviations in patients with anxiety disorders, and who propose hypotheses regarding the nature and origins of this linkage. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the explicit and implicit self-esteem level in clients with anxiety disorder. For the purpose of measuring explicit self-esteem we have used foreign questionnaires, namely the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the SLSC-R. Psychological aspects of headache

This thesis focuses on the psychological aspects of headaches from different perspectives which can affect patient's life. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters. The first one is devoted to the characteristics of different types of headaches and serves as a theoretical-neurologic background for the following chapters focused on the psychological aspects as mentioned. Next chapters are a mainstay of the thesis that deal with the psychological aspects as possible symptoms of headaches; accompanying psychological phenomenas which patient may face while having a pain attack and also psychological consequences of this health problem. The last chapter is dedicated to the co-morbidity of psychiatric disorders with migraine. In the empirical part a research project exploring the correlation of personality traits and headaches is presented.
