Latex Modified Cement Composites
Kunc, Michal ; Rovnaníková, Pavla (referee) ; Kuřitka, Ivo (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (advisor)
The subject of dissertation is a study of physic-mechanical properties and development of self-leveling polymer-cement composite of the ternary binder system PC-CAC-CS modified with chemical additives and polymeric substances. The dissertation systematically describes a four-step optimalization of the composite considering its key properties. Experimental part has been focused on monitoring the impact of composite components on selected final properties. Basic physico-mechanical, structural properties and its relations (compressive strength, porosity, flow abilities, setting times) have been analyzed for deeper understanding of the effects of individual composite components. Methods which quantify the existence of the newly formed hydration product – ettringite (XRD, SEM with EDS, calorimetry, dilatometry) has been chosen as additional study methods on selected combinations. A working prototype of self-leveling polymer-cement composite was successfully developed based on systematic process and using of testing procedures and measuring methods.

Kinetics of Heterogeneous Processes in Silicate Technologies -Dehydroxylation and Disolution of Clay Minerals
Křečková, Magdaléna ; Kutzendörfer, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kuřitka, Ivo (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (advisor)
The first part of the thesis discuss general characterization of heterogeneous processes in silicates. This part is focused on kinetics of heterogeneous processes and mathematical description of reactions time behavior. The other part describes important technologies in silicate industry such as sintering, solid matter decomposition, transition modification, etc. Another chapter deals mineralogy, structure and properties of eminent silicate raw materials. Emphases is given to characterization of clay minerals and their utilising. The experimental part handle the analytic techniques used for investigation of thermal decompostion, dehydroxylation, crystalization of Al-Si spinel phase and sintering process of washed kaolin Sedlec Ia from the region Carlsbad (Czech Republic). Concluding chapter reports on results of experimental work.

Cathodoluminiscence of polysilane composites
Neděla, David ; Kuřitka, Ivo (referee) ; Schauer,, Petr (advisor)
Samples with thin layer of poly[methyl(phenyl)silylene] were prepared for cathodoluminescence measurement. Dependence of cathodoluminescence on temperature was studied on these samples. Spectra of emitted light were measured on the samples when they were gradually heated to 20, 50, 75, 100 and 125°C. Kinetics of the process of poly[methyl(phenyl)silylene] regeneration at higher temperature was observed. Samples of polysilylene were displayed by scanning electron microscopy.
