Post-qualification education of urological nurses in Czechia and other EU countries

This bachelor's thesis is focused on mapping out the possibilities of post-qualification education of nurses working in the field of urology in the Czech Republic and in chosen countries of the European union, which are Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, and Poland. It documents the history of education of nurses, as the history of urology. It offers a more detailed description of the current educational system of nurses and the possibilities of post-qualification specialisation in the Czech Republic and the six chosen countries. In the discussion part of the thesis is a summary of information from scientific studies and sources relevant to the topic pointing to the benefits of wider possibilities of post- qualification education of nurses in urology, and to the importance of a continuing education.
Spiritual needs of patiens in hospital setting

Bachelor thesis "Spiritual Needs of Patients in Hospital Setting" deals with issue of patient´s need and their saturation in healthcare facilities. The objective of this thesis was to detrmine importance of spiritual needs to patients and map obstacles in their saturation. In theoretial section is presented overview of theories of needs and description of specific aspects of spiritual needs. Next it is presented comprehensive overview of spiricutual care in hospital setting. It describes importance of spiritual needs in nursing proces - assessment of spiritual needs and patient´s spiritual history, nurses diagnostics, nurses interventions, role of multidisciplinary team and questionaires used in evaluation of spiritual needs. In empirical section are presented results of this respective investigation an their comparation with results of scientific papers. Chosen Method was standardized questionaire FACIT Sp 12 supplemented with questionaire devised by autor, which was distributed among patient FN Motol. Motivation to study paediatric nursing professions at universities

Aim: An objective of this thesis is to investigate a motivation of students to apply for a bachelor's program Pediatric nursing. Theoretical part of the thesis is divided in the two chapters: first one is dedicated to a phenomenon of the motivation itself, whilst the second one is a presentation of the program. In the chapter concerning the motivation, its typology and sources are examined, its principles and possible barriers are described and selected theories of human motivation are reviewed as well as a relationship between a process of learning and the motivation. In the second chapter, Pediatric nursing program is outlined as it is being taught at 2. LF UK. Methods: An empiric part of this thesis utilizes data gathered by means of a survey accomplished with an original structured questionaire which was distributed to the students of the Pediatric nursing at 2.LF UK by electronic means. The quality of children's life following burn injury

Background: The bachelor's thesis deals with the assessment of the long term health- related the quality of life (HRQOL) in children up 2 to 8 years of age following burn inury by The Brisbane Burn Scar Impact Profile (BBSIP) questionnaire in the Czech Republic. Objectives: The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis was to provide a review of the literature and individual studies about HRQOL in children following burn injury and its context. The aim of the empirical part was to assess the influence of individual socio- demographic and clinical determinants on the HRQOL in these patients, identify, which of these variables most predict the HRQOL and implicate these findings into the context of nursing practice regarding comprehensive care for pediatric patients with burns. In this study we also examined the psychometric properties of the czech version of the BBSIP questionnaire on a sample of pediatric patients in the Czech Republic. Accompanying hospice care, public awareness and ideas

The bachelor's thesis "Accompanying in hospice care, public awareness and ideas" examined, compared and also evaluated the awareness and ideas of the general public about concepts such as: hospice, accompaniment, palliative care and also focused on the topic of death and dying. The aim of the work was to find out what the general public is aware of palliative care in the Czech Republic, what the public has fears of death and dying and also how ideas and awareness of the topics differ depending on age, education and place of residence. The theoretical part of the thesis explained the legal definitions and basic concepts. The importance of palliative care in the Czech Republic was emphasized, its development was mapped, its basic goals were defined and the target group of palliative care was defined. Furthermore, the bachelor's thesis presents a structured form of hospice care, describes the professions working in hospices and the final part of the theoretical part is devoted to accompanying the dying. Harmonization of family and work life of Czech nurses

This project deals wih a very imporant issue of the Czech nurses' work and family life and its harmonization. In the theoretical part I try to deal with the role of a nurse as a profession, shiftwork and its difficulties, and last but not least the role of a woman in a family. The main attention is focused on a conflict between a professional and family life and how to harmonize these two aspects. Described are also previous surveys concerning work and family. Aims: The aim of my project was to find out whether and to what extend nurses manage to harmonize their work and family life in shiftwork. I also try to discuss the traditional division of the roles in family. Methods: For my research I used my own questionnaire supplemented with questions from previous surveys. The questionnaire was distributed among nurses in Pardubice hospital a.s. inpatient department of surgical and internal medicine clinic. To process the results Microsoft Excel and Statistica CZ 12 programme were used. Results: Most respondents assume that it is hard to combine work and family life. Only 53,85 % of questioned nurses believe that they manage their work and family life with no problems. Subjective perception of nurses fatigue in the ward with Covid-19 positive patients

The bachelor thesis deals with the workload of nurses caring for COVID-19 positive patients. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to determine the workload of these nurses and to determine whether the workload of the Covid-type ward exceeds the workload of the standard non-Covid ward. Data collection took place in the inpatient, ICU and ARO wards of the Rudolf and Stefanie Hospital in Benešov, which cared for COVID-19 positive patients. The questionnaire survey took place from November 2021 to January 2022. The target group of respondents consisted of practical and general nurses. A data sheet created by Microsoft Excel was used for data processing, and STATISTICA CZ 12 was used for basic statistical analyzes and frequency tables. From the results of the survey it was found that the share, resp. 73.44 % of respondents reported a rate of subjective experiences that matched congestion in Covid's department. 90.63 % of respondents reported a share of subjective experiences in the Covid department that corresponded to monotony. The effect of current therapy on the quality of life of families of children with spinal muscular atrophy

The bachelor thesis is focusedon with the infuence of current therapy on the quality of life of families of children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The teoretical part of the thesis provides families a basic view of the issue of disease. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to assess posible changes in the perception of quality of life of children with SMA before and after the application of the medicinal product Spinraza. Individual dimensios of quality of life and categories of common daily activities were assesed. Methods: Quantitative research was carried out in the form of a questionnaire in threes neuromuscular centers and the patient oragnizations SMÁci. Athor's own questionnnaire the design rellies on a PedsQl touch screen (neuromuscular module). Research file concisted of 36 families of children with SMA (types I, II, III) treated with Spinraza. Results: Spinraza has the effect of improving some dimensions of quality of life and on daily activities. Of gross motor skills in 77,78 % of children.The overal respiration condition was improved in 44,44 %. De-escalation of the patient's aggressive behaviour in a psychiatric ward

The bachelor's thesis "De-escalation of aggressive patient behavior in the psychiatric ward" deals with the issue of aggression, its prevention and effective solution. The aim of the work was to determine the frequency of aggression, its type, cause and method of solution. Another aim of the work was to find out the frequency of trainings that the respondents completed and their interest in a possible offer of training focused on managing aggression. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a basic overview of the issue, a description of de- escalation techniques and other options for managing aggression and its prevention. The empirical part of the work presents the results of own research and their comparison with the results of other professional research. The method of the survey was a self-designed questionnaire, which was distributed to general and practical nurses of the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice. 108 duly completed questionnaires were included in the study itself.
