Comparison of approaches and capabilities for strength calculations of pressure vessels in Ansys Workbench software and SolidWorks Simulation by using FEM
Burian, Josef ; Létal, Tomáš (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with comparison of approaches for strength calculation of pressure vessels in ANSYS Workbench and SolidWorks Simulation. First chapter introduces methods for design of pressure vessels and its legislation. The following chapter gives basic information about both compared software witch were used for following analysis of pressure vessel. Results were compared according to ČSN EN 13 445 in the last chapter.
Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urban processes in strategic planning of city development
Burian, Jaroslav ; Voženílek, Vít (advisor) ; Janíková, Jana (referee) ; Vorel, Jakub (referee)
OF PH.D. THESIS - RNDR. JAROSLAV BURIAN Abstract in English "Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urbanization processes in strategic planning of city development" PhD thesis represents original author's approach to the modeling of urban processes by using GIS in Olomouc region. In theoretical part, urban processes and spatial structures of the cities are described in connection with geospatial technologies and digital data for studying, analysis, modeling and simulation. Practical part is divided into for separated parts to fluently binding and creating homogenous thematic block. The first part of the thesis analyses development of Olomouc city by using functional areas derived from historical urban plans (since 1930). The development of urban processes, spatial structures of the city and impacts of urbanization and suburbanization are evaluated. Second chapter describes identification, analysis and quantification of suburbanization in Olomouc suburban space. The main result is Toolbox "Suburban Analyst" in ArcGIS software that use multi- criteria evaluation method and allows identifying and quantifying suburbanization in municipalities' level. Third part analyses the readiness of municipalities and cadastral areas for suburbanization. The final values of readiness represent...
Materials shielding properties measurement
Michal, Martin ; Burian, Jiří (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of ionizing radiation, specifically gamma radiation and its shielding. This radiation is produced, for example, during a fission reaction in a nuclear reactor. Materials such as lead, or concrete are most often used to shield gamma radiation. This is due to their low cost and high density. The task of new trends is to try to replace these existing materials with more efficient, lighter, and non-toxic materials. The aim of the practical part was the calculation of linear attenuation coefficients. For the calculation, the values of the thickness of the shielding sheets, the intensity of the unattenuated beam and the attenuated beam were needed. These values were determined from measurements. For more accurate calculations, the background value was also measured, which was then subtracted from the intensity values of the undamped beam. The resulting values were compared with each other.
Experimental investigation of natrium chloride neutron induced reactions for nuclear reactors cooled by molten salts
Burian, J.
The article deals with the experiment within the Master’s thesis written on Department of Electrical Power Engineering in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC) on Brno University of Technology (BUT). The behavior of NaCl in neutron field was studied via irradiation indium cylinders surrounded by the salt. As a result are charts of reaction rate for two nuclear reactions and three measuring channels.
Studying settlement systems with mobile positioning data
Šimbera, Jan ; Hudeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Burian, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šveda, Martin (referee)
Settlement systems, the large-scale manifestation of the spatial organization of human society, are the frequent object of human geography studies. Mobile positioning data have been used in recent decades as a unique source on human activities in space, but robust methodologies to generate datasets from them that would be comparable in accuracy to conventional sources such as census data or travel diaries have still been lacking. This thesis aims to bridge the gap by describing in detail how to generate population distribution and commuting datasets from mobile positioning sources with the mentioned accuracy using ma- chine learning and ancillary geospatial data, including proper treatment of data privacy and artifacts inherent to mobile positioning, and to illustrate their ca- pabilities by building hierarchical settlement system models from them. Several further possible refinements are presented and discussed. 1
Design of bonding system for PCB repairs
Burian, Jaroslav ; Skácel, Josef (referee) ; Otáhal, Alexandr (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design a device for PCB repairing, mainly for conductive traces and soldering pads. The design focuses on mechanical construction, control unit and controling of the whole device, which is semiautomatic. A great deal of emphasis is placed on the simplicity and versality of the construction. The teoretic part of this thesis is addressed to the printed circuit board and its repairs. There are presented existing devices for repairing of those defects in the second part. The next part is focused on the design itself in terms of mechanical construction and choosing electrical components. There is described controlling of these components. Part of making mechanical components follows. Last but not least, firmware, which controls whole machine is described there. Finally, the machine was tested in the repair process of the solder pad on the printed circuit board.
Molten salt cooled nuclear reactors
Dzurňák, Martin ; Burian, Jiří (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of liquid salt reactors, gives information on historical and current projects and in the practical part deals with the moderating properties of selected isotopes and their salts found by calculation.
The Prague Metro - phenomenon in the context of Czechoslovak history
Burian, Jiří ; Mücke, Pavel (advisor) ; Krátká, Lenka (referee)
6 Abstract The thesis deals with Prague metro as a social phenomenon in the history context of Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic in recent two centuries. The work focus on perception of Prague metro from the point of view of general contenporary history and well known public sources in comparison with perception of common people or different subcultures. It also informs about all valuable resources about Prague metro and subject these to continual critical evaluation. In order to make a full understanding of the context, there is also a short part about history of Prague metro. The empiric part is processed by analogical approach to Czech and Czechoslovak history as well as interpretation of the used interviews.
