The influence of extrinsic motivation on physical condition in lung transplant candidates
Jordáková, Magdalena ; Babková, Lenka (advisor) ; Procházka, Michal (referee)
Rehabilitation takes an important part in the care for lung transplant candidates with chronic lung disease. The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes current knowledge about motivation and adherence to rehabilitation, about telerehabilitation options (telemonitoring physical activity using pedometer), and their use in lung transplant candidates. In the practical part it was investigated whether extrinsic motivation (education, pedometer, communication with physiotherapist via e-mail) leads to an improvement in the six-minute walking test outcome (6MWD) or in adherence to rehabilitation in lung transplant candidates. It was found no statistically significant improvement in 6MWD nor in adherence to rehabilitation in extrinsically motivated patients waiting for a lung transplant. However, data suggested increasing trend of 6MWD after intervention.
Alterations kinematics of thorax after thoracic surgeries
Sidorenková, Olga ; Babková, Lenka (advisor) ; Tomší, Adéla (referee)
This theses discusses thoracic surgeries and their effect on thoracic kinematics since those patients aren't usually indicated for outpatients physiotherapy. Theses observes the changes of thoracic kinematice in time withnout the interference of outpatient physiotherapy. Patients were acquainted during their hospitalization and they received a flyer. The theoretical part focuses on thoracic surgeries, options of respiratory physiotherapy and effects of thoracic surgeries on patients. The practical part observers the effect of thoracic surgery on chest expansion, development of pain (using Visual pain scale and Questionnaire of pain interference with daily activities) and effect of the surgery on quality of life using WHOQOL BREF questionnaire.
Effect of breathing training and DNS on lower esophageal sphincter and back pain in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease
Jandáková, Vladana ; Mádle, Kateřina (advisor) ; Babková, Lenka (referee)
This thesis focuses on lower esophageal sphincter and low back pain in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Common etiological factor of both GERD and low back pain frequently present in GERD patients is diaphragm dysfunction. Diaphragm fulfils respiratory, postural and sphincter functions, all these functions are interrelated which we benefit from in therapy. Theoretical section presents anatomy of the esophagus, upper and lower esophageal sphincters, diaphragm, follows etiology, diagnostic methods and treatment of GERD and LBP as well as common therapeutical approach by means of postural and respiratory physiotherapy. Basic principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization and Respiratory muscle training are presented and their use in the treatment of GERD and LBP. Practical section contains a case study of a patient diagnosed with GERD, kinesiological analysis, high resolution manometry of esophagus and therapy focused on diaphragm activation achieved by improving trunk stabilization and by optimising patient's breathing stereotype.
The influence and possibilities of physiotherapy in patiens after oncological-surgical interventions through the thoracic way - its specifics in the preoperative, acute postoperative and outpatient period
Hrbáčková, Karolína ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Babková, Lenka (referee)
Diplomová práce Vliv a možnosti fyzioterapie u pacientů po onkologicko-chirurgických zákrocích hrudníku - její specifika v předoperačním, akutním pooperačním a ambulantním období Abstract Lung tumor diseases are the most frequent tumors in the world. In men it is the most common tumoral disease in incidence, in women it occupies the third place. Bronchogenic carcinoma is the most frequent one, which includes tumors of trachea, bronchus and lung parenchyma. In most cases, the treatment requires surgical removal associated with hospitalization and subsequent rehabilitation. The theoretical part addresses oncologic surgical issues of lung tumors. A major part of the theory is dedicated to the options of physiotherapy and its specifics in particular parts of rehabilitation care. The practical part observes two groups of patiens and comparatively evaluates the effect of the therapy in particular parts by objective and subjective tests.
Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in health resort
Complex rehabilitation after the colon cancer surgery
Podpěrová, Markéta ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Babková, Lenka (referee)
Colorectal cancer is one of the third most common cancers in developed countries. It ranks second in women and third in men in the incidence of malignancies. The main theoretical part of this bachelor thesis deals with colorectal cancer, its surgical solution and the consequences associated with it. It also describes in the form of a search the focus of comprehensive rehabilitation care for the disease and the possibilities of therapy. In the practical part of this work, a case report of a patient before and after colon cancer surgery in three different time periods is processed. Measured parameters related to postural functions of 3 patients in the period before and after colorectal cancer surgery are also evaluated. The results of processing quality of life questionnaires given to patients before and 3 weeks after surgery are attached and described. The questionnaires are further compared either with respect to global reference values or with each other.
