The recovery of this territory is a major task which will Znojmo face in the coming years. In a small town with little development potential, is probably not possible to expect a single realization of the operation, but rather a series of successive interventions.

Applying formal defense in the pre-trial phase of criminal proceedings Abstract This rigorous thesis deals with the application of the formal defense in the pre-trial phase of prosecution. The thesis circumscribes the defense in the terms of the defense lawyer in the investigation phase, i.e. after the initiation of the prosecution, while the focus is apart from other things on the important and unneglectable instruments of the defense, particularly on the petition against the resolution of prosecution initiation, the inspection of the court file, also on the participation of the defense lawyer on the investigation, the evidence procurement by the defense lawyer, the study of the court file and the suggestion for completion of the investigation, and the suggestion for the preliminary discussion of the defense. The thesis also shows the peculiarities of the defense during the prosecution of the defendant in detention, while the emphasis in put on the defendant in detention defense execution itself with the focus on the personal visits in the detention center and the matter of demanding release from the detention and utilizing the measures substituting detention. The diploma thesis deals with the expansion of the Židenice cemetery. The new cemetery offers a more ecological form of burial - composting of bodies. Because of this, a building is designed in which the ceremonies and the composting process will take place. The resulting compost can be picked up by the bereaved and placed next to the trees in the cemetery area. The area will serve as a public space on the border between the cemetery and the park.

Fully Automated Method for the Design of Ancestral Proteins

Stabilita proteinů je zásadní vlastností ovlivňující možnosti průmyslového použití proteinů. Tato práce se zaměřuje na vylepšení automatizovaného nástroje FireProtASR, který využívá rekonstrukci ancestrálních sekvencí pro návrh proteinů se zvýšenou stabilitou. Do tohoto nástroje byla přidána nově navržená metoda rekonstrukce successorů. Successory představují sekvence proteinů, ke kterým bude v budoucnosti směřovat evoluce. Podle současných poznatků by měly mít vyšší aktivitu než současné proteiny, společně s vyšší schopností vázat se specificky na určité molekuly. Dále bylo vytvořeno nové webové uživatelské rozhraní, které poskytuje rychlé a intuitivní ovládání nástroje FireProtASR.

The Building on Obilní trh

The current appearance of the surroundings of the Obilní trh, a square with a park situated nearby the city centre of Brno, isn’t unproblematic. Above all, on Údolní Street, between the tram stop and the Office of the Public Defender of Rights, there is an inadequate car park and a torso of a terraced building in an unsatisfactory condition. All this is a flaw in the beauty already represented by the park on the Obilní trh and the forest park adjacent to the Špilberk Castle. This work places the building of the Office of the Defender of Children's Rights - an institution that is to be established in the Czech Republic soon to control the progress of authorities, as well as other institutions that may interfere with the child's social and legal status instead of parking lots and neglected buildings. The solution is designed to be modern, open, and sustainable. With its idea and concrete form, it suggests that it welcomes children and their parents with open arms, but it is also a pleasant place for employees who implement the institution's powers daily. In addition to the "office" itself, the building and its surroundings offer parking, spaces for commercial use and for temporary accommodation. Its visual side suitably illustrates the surroundings full of greenery and the bustle of social life.

The Building on Obilní trh

The gap on the opposite side of Obilní trh has been a neglected area for a long time and it looks unaesthetic. The location of the place is ideal for the construction of a building of public interest as it is located near the city center and at the same time it is surrounded by nature especially the park around the castle Spilberk. The situation is solved in this thesis by designing a multifunctional building which houses mainly the Office of district Brno střed, Brno City Architect's Office and the Urban Center. The premises attract with their variable use and also with the mutual communication of the building with the outdoor spaces. The urbanism of the design respects and complements the surrounding public space while not disturbing the current state of public infrastructure and life in the city. On the contrary, the design supports the attractiveness of the place and the city of Brno as such.

Pension Systems in a World with Stagnant Population and Market Inefficiencies: A Comparison

Financial unsustainability of pension systems in developed economies looms large on the horizon due to increasing life expectancy and continuous drop in fertility. In spite of a broad discussion, there has been but a little consensus on appropriate remedy. Besides, the theoretical arguments supporting funded pension systems often build upon the unrealistic assumption of stable financial markets and fair transformation of saved funds into retirement benefits. This work provides an insight into performance of various pension systems in real- world conditions using large-scale simulations of an overlapping generations model based on existing pension schemes in the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Chile. Specifically, my model assumes adverse demographics, individual un- certainty, volatile financial markets' returns, and administrative costs to affect social security systems and estimates magnitude of the effects. According to the results, each pension system seems to be partially advantageous - in pro- motion of economic growth, level of retirement benefits, or protection against market risks - but no scheme is dominant or dominated overall.
