Needs of patients with age related macular degeneration

This bachelor's thesis deals with the area of specific needs in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the changed needs of patients with AMD. Methods: To achieve the aim of the thesis, a questionnaire survey was conducted. The target group of the survey were patients undergoing anti-VEGF therapy at an unnamed eye clinic. A total of 70 questionnaires were included in the survey. Results: Based on the statistical evaluation of the data, it was found that AMD significantly affects the lives of respondents in many areas. The majority of respondents identified independence and self-sufficiency as the most affected aspect of their lives. More than half of the respondents (55.71 %) have problems with mobility and everyday activities. AMD also negatively affects the mental health of patients, 70 % of respondents are afraid of depression or anxiety. Respondents find meaning and fulfillment in life, especially in the areas of family and friends relationships, leisure activities, spiritual development, education, gratitude, and a positive attitude towards life. Nursing Care in Patients with MRSA

The bachelor thesis "Nursing Care in Patients with MRSA" deals with the issue of barrier regimen in the context primarily with golden staphylococcus infection. The aim is to assess the attitudes of nursing staff about nursing care in patients with MRSA, analyze the adherence to contact precautions in the clinical practice and to identify the factors associated with potential non-adherence. The theoretical part of the thesis serves as an introduction to the topic, while the empirical part contains the results of the actual investigation and serves to explore the above objectives. The research method was a self-constructed questionnaire with 33 questions, which was distrubuted among the nursing staff in the surgical and internal inpatient wards of the adult part of Motol University Hospital. Responses from 67 respondents were included and the obtained data were statistically processed. The survey resulted in the following findings: Only 13 respondents (19 %) say that everyone on their ward always adheres to barrier measures. The most common situation where barrier measures are not adhered to is 'acute patient condition' with 27 respondents (40 %) and 'at night' with 12 respondents from the standard ward and only 1 from the ICU. The bachelor's thesis on the topic "Barrier nursing regime in pediatric patients with acute gastroenteritis" deals with the use of certain principles in the prevention of the spread of acute diarrheal diseases as nosocomial infections. It focuses on the knowledge and habits of nurses providing nursing care for hospitalized children in the children's ward, emphasizing the importance of using personal protective equipment and overall compliance with the barrier nursing regime. Objective of the work: The aim of the work was to find out and evaluate the knowledge and attitude of nurses towards compliance with the barrier nursing regime. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to find out whether respondents with a university education demonstrate greater knowledge and a stronger attitude towards compliance with set principles than respondents with a secondary education. The bachelor's thesis entitled ''On motivation to study nursing at university'' deals with the motivation of students of General and Pediatric nursing. Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out the motivation of the respondents, students of the bachelor study program for the preparation of general nurses to study at the university. In the theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis, individual chapters related to the given issue are elaborated. Key terms such as motivation and motives are described, and the study marginally deals with the history of higher education in nursing, the current education of general nurses and related legislation. The empirical part of the study presents the results of the own research and their comparison with the results of studies on the same or similar topic. Methods: In order to achieve the aim of work, a questionnaire survey was carried out, the target group of which was students of the 2nd and 3rd years of General and Pediatric Nursing. 246 completed questionnaires were included in the survey itself. (v AJ) 1) introduction - introduction to the problem The diploma thesis on the interpretation of electrocardiograms by nurses and paramedics in the resuscitation department and in urgent pre-hospital care includes a theoretical summary of ECG pathologies, as well as addresses the issue of correct interpretation of electrocardiograms in relation to gender, age, workplace experience, and suggestions for improvement. 2) goal formulation, methodology The goal of the diploma thesis was to map the level of knowledge in interpreting electrocardiograms by nurses and paramedics in the resuscitation department and in urgent pre hospital care, depending on age, gender, length of experience, and job placement, with a focus on ECG interpretation. Attitude and Motivation of Nurses to Lifelong Learning

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of nurses' motivation for lifelong learning and their awareness of this topic. Target: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out whether nurses have an overview of the individual forms of lifelong education of non-medical healthcare workers, whether and how they are motivated to participate in them, and what factors prevent them from participating in lifelong education programs. Methods: A questionnaire containing 22 questions was distributed electronically to the nurses. A total of 493 questionnaires were processed of which 348 general nurses, 70 children's nurses, 58 practical nurses, 8 midwives and 8 paramedics participated in the survey. The non-parametric statistical method Pearson's Chi-square was used for statistical data processing. Results: The results show that nurses' knowledge of individual programs and forms of lifelong learning varies depending on their age, length of professional practice and educational attainment. Nurses' interest in participating in lifelong learning programs decreases with increasing age and length of practice and is influenced by workload resulting from staff shortages. The bachelor's thesis "Measurement and evaluation techniques in nursing care" is devoted to the basic characteristics, negatives and evaluation of individual evaluation and measurement tools. The aim of the work was to find out the knowledge of nurses about currently used measurement and evaluation techniques in nursing care. Another goal was to find out what the nurses consider to be the biggest limits when using rating scales and their interest in education on the issue being addressed. The theoretical part of the thesis contains basic information about the problem being solved, such as a description of selected measurement and evaluation tools. The empirical part presents the results of own research and their comparison with other professional works. The method used in the research was a questionnaire survey using a self-constructed questionnaire that was distributed to practical and general nurses in the university hospital in Motol. Results: Based on their own research, it was found that almost 59 % of respondents do not consider evaluation and measurement techniques as a waste of time, and almost 60 % of respondents state that time is the biggest limitation of evaluation scales. The topic of the bachelor thesis was a probe into the quality of life of people caring for a loved one with a long-term illness. The first part contains an overview of the development of the construct of quality of life in a historical context from the literature, with an emphasis on its multidisciplinary definition in the social sciences, medicine and nursing. The second part describes the processing of data from caregivers on the basis of my own questionnaire aimed at estimating quality of life, with the intention not only to verify its parameters, but to obtain pilot data on the subjective perception of the situation in a sample of long-term caregivers. A psychological resilience questionnaire was also administered during the session. Data collection was conducted face-to-face with respondents using the snowball method during December 2023. The data obtained from 114 individuals (41 males, 73 females), mean age M = 56.6, SD = 25.45, were processed both in terms of frequency of responses, relationships between variables and by multiple linear regression analysis. Gender stereotypes related to the role of men as providers of nursing care through the eyes of students

The Abstract Gender stereotypes associated with men working as nurses are currently a topical issue in society. The aim of this study is to map out students' stereotypical perceptions of men as students or employees in the role of a general nurse. The theoretical part of the study defines stereotypes as well as the roles assigned to nurses and men as their performers. Furthermore, it describes the position of men in the workplace and during their studies, and whether stereotypical thinking affects their careers. The empirical part of the study utilizes data obtained through a questionnaire survey using a structured questionnaire of its own construction, which was distributed to students of General Nursing and Pediatric Nursing at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, in printed form. Out of the total number of distributed questionnaires, 97 were completed in full. Detailed results are presented in tabular summaries and pie charts. The evaluation of the questionnaire survey demonstrated that stereotypes prevail more in lay society than among the students themselves. The bachelor's thesis entitled "Central sterilization and its importance in a hospital facilities" deals with the role of the central sterilization department, describes its main purpose in a medical facility and tries to provide a more detailed description of the operations that take place there. Objective: The aim of the work was not only to introduce methods of sterilization, but also to find out the level of knowledge of general and practical nurses about the correct handling of sterile medical devices. The aim of the research part was also to verify knowledge regarding the correct implementation of sterile material control and decontamination of biologically contaminated medical devices. Sample and methods: The research was carried out in the form of an electronic questionnaire of our own design, which contained twenty items. It was distributed in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and central operating rooms in the Military University Hospital Prague at the beginning of 2024. The research group consisted of 72 respondents, of which 27 were included in outpatient service, 22 in inpatient wards and 23 from central operating rooms.
