Business report of 5th European Conference on Information Literacy and visit of Bibliothèque nationale de France

The mission was to visit and actively participate in the 5th International Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL), dedicated to information literacy at workplace, as well as to visit the French National Library. There was presented a contribution (Pecha-Kucha) entitled "Dominant Traits of the Information Behavior of Vietnamese Immigrants in the Czech Republic: Impact on Building their Information Landscapes - Preliminary Paper" based on the preliminary results of the diploma thesis on the Information Behavior of Vietnamese Migrants.

Business from 38th Annual IATUL Conference Bozen 2017

IATUL’s 2017 theme was Embedding Libraries – Service and Development in Context. Over 120 attendees from many countries worldwide attended this year’s conference. Dr. Krueger presented a paper entitled Letting Traditional Boundaries Blur: A Case Study in Co-Developing STEM “Excellence” Courses and moderated a session on Thursday at the request of conference organizers. Speakers at the moderated session were from the Technical University of Munich and the German National Library of Science and Technology in Hannover.

UC Berkeley Library Internship Report

An internship at the UC Berkeley Library in Berkeley took place from September 16 to September 26, 2017 and aimed to encourage and enable the exchange of experience and good practice among NTK staff and the UC Berkeley Library and to establish working relationships with foreign professionals. The main themes were: information support for students and teachers; involving students and teachers in creation of library services; linking the library's long-term vision with the needs of the university and internal communication within the library; advanced information support for academic communication.

Travel's Report from IFLA ILDS 2017 Paris

The theme of this year's conference was "No Library Left Behind: Cross-Border Resource Sharing". Discussed was a wide range of topics, from international resource sharing, tools and ways of sharing, Open Access and employee development strategies to technology in the networked world. The author was assured by the IFLA Documentation and Resource Sharing Section Standing Committee members that they will support the NTL's candidacy for the next 16th ILDS Conference in 2019 in Prague.

19. ročník mezinárodní konference o šedé literatuře

The aim of the business trip was to attend the International Conference on Grey Literature, the world's largest conference on grey literature, as well as attending an annual meeting of Greynet members, including representatives of NTK. This year the conference was focused more on data and sets of data, that will be dealt with by NTK in the near future. There was also presented NTK activities - the operation of the Institutional Digital Repository and the National Repository of Grey Literature.
