Hydromorphological survey as a basis for restoration measures. Case study of the Rakovnik Brook catchment.
Maroušková, Kateřina ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Šípek, Václav (referee)
This thesis deals with use of hydromorphological assessment methods and the application of the Hydroecological monitoring HEM (Langhammer, 2007, 2013) method in the model basin of lower part of Rakovnický potok stream. This thesis presents results of the terrain survey and based on this results, the parts with poor ecomorphological conditions should be identified and restoration measures should be suggested to improve the hydromorphological quality and physical habitat of Rakovnický potok stream. This stream represents both almost natural parts of the catchment in Křivoklátsko Landscape Protected Area as well as parts which are influenced by human activities, especially by the agriculture and the industry. Due to the results of applied terrain survey and literature research, it was suggested to apply complex restoration in the whole area of Rakovnický potok basin immediately.
Distributed order management for restaurants
Zíka, Jakub ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Horký, Vojtěch (referee)
Order management software is vital to restaurants and other order-based businesses to keep track of their finances and the demands of their custo- mers. Many such products are available in the Czech market; however, it is often difficult to modify these existing solutions or interface them with new or different systems. In this thesis, we design and implement a new order management system called EasyPub. EasyPub works on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems, and allows external programs to ac- cess information stored within the system through an open communication protocol. Its creation is beneficial and contributes to innovation in the area of restaurant software. 1
Metafictional narrative strategies of two Cervantes' Exemplary Novels
Krátká, Tereza ; Holub, Jiří (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
The aim of the work is to sum up main function of the metafictional narrative strategies in two Cervantes' Exemplary Novels - The dialogue between Scipio and Berganze and The deceitful marriage. At the beginning, the text is focused on composition of both novels, mainly on their narrative structure. In the next part, the work is concentrated on analysis of reminiscences relevant - as for novels' genre, language and style - for interpretation of metaficitonal narrative with respect to the period of baroque upcoming. Then, the narrative structure is compared with Cervantes' novel Don Quijote which is based on the same type of narrative strategy. The author comes to the conclusion that the primary function of the metafictional narrative strategies is a possibility to interpret the question of the truth in relation to the baroque reality of the 17th century in Spain. The main importance of the work is presentation of a detailed narrative scheme of two novels, up to now absent in majority of theoretical works aimed at Exemplary Novels composition. Key words: Miguel de Cervantes, Dialogue between Scipio and Berganze, El coloquio de los perros, metafiction, intertextuality, credibility, narrative strategies.
Non-profit event marketing: case study of Do práce na kole 2013
Nevšímal, Richard ; Hejlová, Denisa (advisor) ; Halada, Jan (referee)
The thesis Social Event Marketing in Non-Profit Sector: Case Study of Do práce na kole 2013 aims to illustrate the specific environment of motivational campaigns supporting the growth of urban cycling. The grounds of UCC (Urban Commuter Cycling) act as a crossection of several communication theory and practice fields, which are examined. The non-profit Do Práce Na Kole (Bike To Work) campaign acts as an example, threading together social and event marketing, while encompassing aspects of CSR, company culture and gamification. This work describes the characteristics of the overall UCC problematic and the connected social trends, the author describes aspects of communication, that have been overlooked or might have been developped further. This work draws out the specifications, the history and communicational goals of Do Práce Na Kole 2013, the event is further analysed based on it's concept and realisation. It analyses it's main focus and lays ground for possible ways of development of it's communication strategy
Critical-realist Philosophy of Science, its Consequences and Merit for the Methodology of Social Sciences
Zich, Jakub ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Hlaváček, Karel (referee)
Critical realism acknowledges epistemic relativism, which means faith, that our knowledge is not definite, complete and that it's not pure mirror of reality. It however refuses critical relativism, which claims, that we cannot choose more adequate description of reality between two or more competing descriptions. In order to reflect an extent and character of our knowledge, first we have to reveal ontological status of things, which are subject of our investigation - in case of natural science as well as in social science - which implies fundamental refuse of the thesis about correspondence between descriptions of things and their substantial existence. In order to approach knowledge about real essence of things, we cannot confine on our experiences of events, which are products of co-operation of particular generative mechanisms and causal relations. For that reason higher degree of abstraction and theory-grounded knowledge is necessary. Our theories about generative mechanisms can be than on the basis of empirical investigation temporarily verified, partly falsified or modified; but always with recognition, that our experience is only an experience of variable manifest appearances, which are conditioned with higher structural ordering. Foregoing thesis represents connection between natural and...
The Revenge in Norbert Frýd's and Viktor Fischl's Works
Gričová, Andrea ; Holý, Jiří (advisor) ; Špirit, Michael (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on two novels - Krabice živých and Dvorní šašci in which both authors describe events of Second World War. It deals with stylistic and composition processes of both writings and also with the theme of revenge and the related guilt and punishment in connection with the World War II and holocaust. The first part of the thesis deals with Norbert Frýd and his writing Krabice živých, it also states his factual life data, because they serve the better understanding of the origin of the work. The second part of thesis deals with Viktor Fischl and his writing Dvorní šašci and also states the factual data from his life. In the conclusion it summarizes the collected findings. Testování ozářených křemíkových detektorů pro experiment ATLAS Upgrade
Novotný, Pavel ; Kodyš, Peter (advisor) ; Carli, Ina (referee)
Participation on development of radiation hard particle detectors for the ATLAS experiment was main goal of this bachelor thesis. Collaboration on the detector development requires understanding of principles of particle detection in HEP experiments. It contains topics of radiation interaction with matter, operation and construction of semiconductor detectors and signal processing. Special attention was paid to radiation damage of silicon detectors. Laser test of irradiated detectors, where operation at low temperature was necessary, were performed. Finally, basic electric characteristics of the detectors were obtained. I participated in preparation and realization of measurement and analysis of the results. Further, the new readout system HSIO was installed with my assistance at the detector laboratory of Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics in Prague. It will be used in further development of particle detectors for the ATLAS experiment. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
