Pojmy „Health Technology Assessment“ a „Evidence-Based Medicine“ jsou v posledních letech stále více zmiňovány v nejrůznějších kontextech. Projekty v této oblasti se co do náplně i metodiky mnohdy překrývají, jindy zase jakoby rozcházejí. Tato práce se zabývá analýzou motivací a cílů procesů, které stojí na pozadí výše uvedených pojmů. Při hlubší analýze jejich historického vývoje i současného pojetí lze vysledovat nejen společné prvky, ale také vzájemnou komplementaritu. The terms "Health Technology Assessment" and "Evidence-Based Medicine" are increasingly mentioned in various contexts recently. Projects in this area in terms of content and methodology often overlap, other time diverge. This work deals with the analysis of the motivation and objectives of processes, which stand in the background of the above mentioned concepts. In deeper analysis of their historical development and present interpretation one can trace not only common elements, but also the mutual complementarity.
