The work is focused on solution how increase the computer literacy in the Czech Republic. Defining idea of computer literacy, first shows up its progression through the time and explores its level in the Czech Republic. The work contains as well comparison of whole countries of EU, because the Czech Republic is integrated in European Union (EU). By reason that main element in the sphere of education is a state, the gist of this work is explication of state's role in the sphere of computer literacy. The author is attending as well to the other possibilities to increase computer and internet abilities. General computer literacy and specific education systems for products of certain producer belong to systems that are focused on increasing them. Another article shows up examples of educational activities created by private companies, which is also very important part of education, because it is very often supported by state on the principles of "Public Private Partnership" (PPP). Whole work arised on the basics of studying resources, mainly, in electronic form and through its making a range of software and programs have been used. The work, its scape and form would like to present author's own IT literacy. Práce se zaměřuje na zkoumání možností zvyšování počítačové gramotnosti v České republice. Zpočátku definuje pojem počítačové gramotnosti, nastiňuje její vývoj v čase a zkoumá její úroveň v ČR. Jelikož je ČR integrální součástí Evropské unie, obsahuje práce i srovnání úrovně počítačové gramotnosti České republiky a zemí EU. Protože hlavním činitelem v oblasti vzdělávání je stát, je jádrem práce osvětlení role státu v oblasti informační a počítačové gramotnosti. Autor se věnuje i dalším možnostem zvyšování počítačových a internetových dovedností. Mezi ně patří systémy, které se soustředí na zvyšování obecné počítačové gramotnosti a specifické systémy školení na konkrétní produkty určitého výrobce. Dalším článkem je ukázka vzdělávacích činností soukromých společností, který je také velmi důležitým článkem vzdělávání, protože jeho činnost je velmi často podporována státem na principu Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). Celá práce vznikla na základě studia především zdrojů v elektronické podobě a při jeho zpracování byla užita řada počítačových aplikací. Výsledek práce tak může být určitou autorovou vizitkou o jeho vlastní počítačové gramotnosti.
