Úvodní část této práce je věnována období verismu, a to nejen v Itálii. Další kapitoly se soustředí na osobnosti Giacoma Pucciniho a Ruggera Leoncavalla. Jejich život a dílo , s důrazem na tvorbu operní. Následující oblast popisuje život spisovatele Henry Murgera a Latinskou čtvrť v Paříži. Kapitola " Scénes de la vie Bohéme " se zabývá vznikem tohoto románu. Povahovým rysům jednotlivých osov jsou věnovány kapitoly Charakter Rodolfa, Charaktee Marcella, Charakter Mimi a Charakter Musette. V této práci je věnována pozornost také vzniku názvu opery " La bohéme". Obsahy jednotlivých oper, pozorování osob a obsazení, ale také odlišnosti po stránce textové a hudební jsou tématem dalších stránek.
