Diplomová práce si klade otázku, zda je státní podnik zdrojem politického kapitálu v pojetí teorie dobývání renty na příkladu problematiky státního československého lázeňství. Teoretická část se zabývá vymezením pojmu politického kapitálu a konceptem pojetí teorie dobývání renty z pohledu školy veřejné volby. V analytické části je zkoumán osud státních lázní na území Československé republiky. V rámci historické sondy do období první republiky je zkoumáno, co se s těmito lázněmi dělo, jaké bylo jejich místo ve státním rozpočtu, jaké bylo jejich hospodaření v návaznosti na plnění jejich vytyčených cílů a které znaky dobývání renty v podobě politického kapitálu lze u tohoto státního podniku sledovat. Na základě této analýzy je vyvozen závěr, zda jsou státní lázně praktickým příkladem teorie dobývání renty a zdrojem politického kapitálu. This thesis deals with the question whether a state public enterprise is the source of political capital in the conception of the theory of rent-seeking on the example of the Czechoslovak state spa. The theoretical part explains the concept of political capital and the concept of rent-seeking theory from the view of Public Choice Theory. The analytical part is concerned with the fate of state spas in Czechoslovakia. The probe into the historical period of the First Republic is examined what happens to these spas, what is their place in the state budget, what is their fulfillment of stated objectives and which characters of rent-seeking in the form of political capital are observed at this state company. Based on this analysis it is concluded that the state spa enterprise is practical example of the theory of rent seeking and the source of political capital.
