Cílem práce je analyzovat vývoj plodnosti a porodnosti v České republice po roce 2000 a také faktorů, které mají vliv na počet narozených dětí. Pomocí této analýzy pak zodpovědět otázku, zda skutečně baby boom v České republice nastal či nikoliv. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavní částí. První část se věnuje teoretické části problematiky vývoje plodnosti a porodnosti v České republice po roce 1990 a současnému vývoji české rodinné a natalitní politiky. Na základě dat dostupných z Českého statistického úřadu a Evropského statistického úřadu byla provedena analýza jednotlivých ukazatelů, na které se zaměřuje druhá část práce. Zejména se zde objevují časové řady daných ukazatelů a dle jejich vývoje jsou pak formulovány závěry vedoucí ke splnění cíle práce. V České republice po roce 2000 opravdu došlo k baby boomu. Tato vlna však nebyla tak silná, jako tomu bylo v těsných poválečných letech po 2. světové válce a také v 70. letech 20. století. V příloze jsou uvedena zdrojová data ke grafům časových řad jednotlivých charakteristických ukazatelů. The objective of the thesis is to analyze development of fertility and natality in the Czech Republic after 2000 and also analyze factors that affect number of births. Using this analysis, the question whether in fact baby boom occurred in the Czech Republic or not, is to be answered. The thesis consists of two main parts. First part deals with theoretical issues of fertility and natality trends in the Czech Republic after 1990 and with current trends of Czech family and natality policy. Analysis of specified indicators was prepared based on data available from the Czech Statistical Office and the European Statistical Office. This is focus of second part. In particular, time series of specified indicators appear here. According to their trends, conclusions are given to conclude the thesis. There was a baby boom after 2000 in the Czech Republic. However, this wave was not as strong as it was in a tight post-war years and in 70th in the 20th century. In the Appendix there are source data for time series graphs of specified indicators.
