Abstract: Chlorine dioxide ClO 2 is a common bleach and disinfectant agent. Its aqueous solution may be conveniently prepared by electrochemical oxidation of chlorite (ClO2-) salts. In this work, we\ndevelop a UV-Vis absorption spectroelectrochemical (SEC) method for sensing ClO2 electrogenerated in the cyclic voltammetric regime in an optically transparent thin-layer electrode\narrangement. Combined approaches based on cyclic voltammetric charge integration, analysis of transient spectral response, and construction of integral and differential voltabsorptograms not only\nenable quantification of electrogenerated ClO2 but also provide insights into its formation and stability. Developed approaches constitute a powerful methodological platform for comprehensive\nSEC analysis of charge transfer reactions.
