Disertační práce Dětský domov - možnosti a výzvy v české společnosti 21. století se zabývá problematikou dětských domovů v současné české společnosti. Práce reaguje na aktuální debatu o potřebě a restrukturalizaci dětských domovů. Hlavním cílem disertační práce je zjistit, jestli současné dětské domovy plní svoji zákonem danou roli. Cíl disertační práce je naplňován kvalitativním výzkumným designem. Disertační práce se snaží poskytnout detailní vhled do edukační reality dětského domova a přispět k diskuzi o jeho budoucnosti. Výzkum disertační práce se zaměřuje na důvody ústavní výchovy, připravenost mladých dospělých na odchod z dětského domova a jejich integraci do společnosti. Teoretická část disertační práce se věnuje současnému stavu poznání a zasazuje problematiku dětských domovů do legislativního rámce. V praktické části jsou prezentována výzkumná zjištění, na jejichž základě je formulována progresivní koncepce dětského domova pro 21. století. The dissertation's main aim is to determine whether the current children's homes fulfill their legally defined role. The aim of the dissertation is fulfilled by a qualitative research design. The dissertation seeks to provide a detailed insight into the educational reality of children's homes and to contribute to the debate about their future. The dissertation research focuses on the reasons for institutionalization, young adults' readiness to leave the children's home, and their integration into society. The theoretical part of the dissertation focuses on the current state of knowledge and places the issue of children's homes in a legislative framework. The practical part presents research findings, based on which a progressive concept of children's homes for the 21st century is formulated.
