Bakalářská práce se zabývá psychickými problémy amerických veteránů z války proti teroru. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jaké duševní následky si vojáci z konfliktu odnášejí a jaké hlavní důvody vedou k jejich vytvoření. Bakalářská práce rozebírá kontext války proti teroru i nové způsoby boje použité v tomto konfliktu a psychické následky veteránů po návratu domů. Práce popisuje programy nabízené americkou vládou a ministerstvy na pomoc zasaženým jedincům. Závěrem výzkumu jsou zjištěné vážné psychické následky u veteránů z války proti teroru, především posttraumatická stresová porucha. Jedná se o nejvyšší dosavadní počet ze všech konfliktů, které Spojené státy vedly. Velký problém představují tzv. nepřiznané dlouhodobé náklady z konfliktu, jako je zvýšená míra alkoholismu, násilí, nebo rozpad rodin. Tyto následky ovlivní negativně i širší společnost. Důvodů k vytvoření psychických problémů je u války proti teroru několik, mezi hlavní ale patří dlouhé trvání konfliktu, nové technologie a způsoby boje, postupný přechod společnosti k odmítání války a negativní postoj vůči veteránům. Je ale také důležité si uvědomit, že dříve se psychické poruchy tak lehce nediagnostikovaly, proto jejich počet byl menší než dnes. Programů podle zkoumání nabízí armáda hodně, nejsou ale příliš účinné, a hlavně je veteráni... This bachelor's thesis deals with the psychological problems of American veterans from the war on terror. This work aimed to find out what mental effects soldiers take away from the conflict and what main reasons led to their creation. The bachelor's thesis briefly describes the context of the war on terror and new methods of combat used in this conflict, as well as the psychological consequences veterans are facing upon returning home. It introduces programs offered by the American government and ministries to assist affected individuals. The result of the research concludes with serious psychological consequences found among veterans of the war on terror, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder. This represents the highest number to date among all conflicts led by the United States. The major issue is the "unrecognized" cost of the war, such as increased rates of alcoholism, violence, or family breakdown. These consequences also negatively impact the wider society. There are several reasons for developing mental health issues from the war on terror, but the main ones include the prolonged duration of the conflict, new methods of combat and technologies, society's gradual shift towards war rejection, and a negative attitude towards veterans.
