Předmětem této práce je obraz Jana Vermeera Alegorie katolické víry, namalovaný v sedmdesátých letech sedmnáctého století - v době zlatého věku holandské malby. V obraze je zkoumán jeho námět, tedy práce se soustředí především na ikonografický a ikonologický rozbor. Zkoumán je významu každého z mnoha a rozmanitých symbolů, které tento obraz obsahuje. Cílem práce je podrobně popsat a interpretovat prvky zobrazené alegorie. Úkol dále spočívá v rozpoznání symbolických a alegorických předmětů a jejich interpretaci v dobovém kontextu. Hlavními zdroji informací, kromě obrazu samotného, budou elektronická média, písemné zdroje, a to 42 publikací ze seznamu literatury, mezi nimiž jsou ikonografické slovníky, monografie o umělci a další práce. Dílo se skládá z úvodu, pěti kapitol, závěru, seznamu literatury, příloh a obrázkové části. Praktický význam práce spočívá v možném využití pro přednášky a workshopy o umění Holandska, umění baroka a pro psaní dalších vědeckých prací. The subject of this work is Jan Vermeer's painting Allegory of the Catholic faith, painted in the seventies of the seventeenth century - during the Golden Age of Dutch painting. The painting explores its theme, so the work focuses mainly on iconographic and iconological analysis. The meaning of each of the many and varied symbols that this image contains is examined. The aim of the work is to describe in detail and interpret the elements of the depicted allegory. The task also consists in the recognition of symbolic and allegorical objects and their interpretation in a contemporary context. The main sources of information, in addition to the image itself, will be electronic media, written sources, namely 42 publications from the list of literature, among which there are iconographic dictionaries, monographs about the artist and other works. The work consists of an introduction, five chapters, a conclusion, A list of literature, appendices and a picture part. The practical significance of the work lies in its possible use for lectures and workshops on the art of Holland, the art of the baroque and for writing other scientific works.
