Jazykové přejímky z japonštiny v současné francouzštině

The diploma thesis focuses on Japanese loanwords in contemporary French, particularly those which are featured in the Petit Robert 2022 dictionary. The theoretical part initially addresses the loanwords in general, exploring the delimitation and classification of this concept from various perspectives. Subsequently, it examines factors influencing the assimilation of Japanese words into French, considering both socio-cultural contexts and, notably, adaptation issues at phonetic, orthographic, morphological and semantic levels. The empirical part aims to scrutinize the presence of the mentioned words in various selected dictionaries and corpora. The corpus data allow to analyze how these words are used and their role in further word formation. Additionally, the empirical part includes sociolinguistic research through a questionnaire. The objective of the questionnaire is firstly to find out whether native French speakers are familiar with selected Japanese loanwords, whether they incorporate them into their language use, and secondly to collect their definitions of these terms.
