Práce se zabývá poměrně zanedbanou diverzitou prvoků obývajících anoxické prostředí zadního střeva švábů (Blattodea bez Isoptera). Prozkoumal jsem složení střevní bioty více než 200 druhů švábů a podrobněji se věnoval čtyřem vybraným skupinám prvoků, parabasalidům (Metamonada: Parabasalia), oxymonádám (Metamonada, Preaxostyla, Oxymonadida), nálevníkům (Alveolata, Ciliophora) a gregarinám (Alveolata, Apicomplexa, Eugregarinorida). Výsledky práce odhalují značnou a dosud takřka neznámou diverzitu švábích metamonád. Z oxymonád se především jedná o malé polymastigidy rodu Monocercomonoides a nově popsaného rodu Blattamonas. Výjimkou je překvapivý nález teprve druhého zástupce rodu Streblomastix. Většina nalezených parabasalidů patří buď do řádu Hypotrichomonadida, nebo Honigbergiellida. Od nich dělá práce malou odbočku, a to k diverzitě honigbergielidů i dalších skupin trichomonád obývajících poněkud jiné anoxické prostředí, a to vodní sedimenty. I zde nacházíme dříve netušenou diverzitu a mimo jiné popisujeme nový parabasalidní řád, Pimpavickida. Další zkoumanou skupinou jsou bizarní nálevníci čeledi Clevelandellidae (Armophorea, Clevelandellida), symbionti (k termitům nepříbuzných) dřevožravých švábů podčeledi Panesthiinae. Práce kriticky reaguje na sérii několika recentních publikací a nabízí... This thesis addresses the rather neglected diversity of protists inhabiting the anoxic environment of the hindgut of cockroaches (Blattodea excluding Isoptera). I have examined the composition of the eukaryotic hindgut biota of over 200 cockroach species, with a detailed focus on four selected groups of protists: parabasalids (Metamonada, Parabasalia), oxymonads (Metamonada, Preaxostyla, Oxymonadida), ciliates (Alveolata, Ciliophora), and gregarines (Alveolata, Apicomplexa, Eugregarinorida). The results reveal a significant and so far almost unknown diversity of cockroach metamonads. The oxymonads are mostly represented by small polymastigids of the genus Monocercomonoides and the newly described genus Blattamonas. An exception is the discovery of what is, to date, only the second representative of the genus Streblomastix. The majority of the identified parabasalids belong to either the order Hypotrichomonadida or Honigbergiellida. Here the study takes a slight detour to explore the diversity of honigbergiellids as well as other groups of trichomonads inhabiting a somewhat different anoxic environment, namely aquatic sediments.
