Abstract: Today's aircraft propulsion development is moving towards the use of electric power units. One possibility is the use of distributed propulsion, i.e., several independent power units located on the wing. An example is the NASA X-57 Maxwell experimental aircraft. This thesis focuses on the study of the effect of this unconventional propulsion configuration on the aerodynamic performance of the aircraft.
