Jedním z cílů mezinárodního projektu EUSAAR byla srovnávací kalibrace měřicích přístrojů a standardizace metodik měření veličin, které vypovídají o kvalitě ovzduší. současně byly standardizovány formáty pro výměnu a ukládání dat a vypracována infrastruktura pro předávání dat ze všech evropských stanic do centrální databáze, a to v téměř reálném čase (NRT = near real time). Centrálně dostupná data pak mohou sloužit teoretikům při vývoji a testování modelů atmosféry, data poskytovaná v téměř reálném čase lze využít jak pro zlepšování kvality krátkodobých předpovědi počasí, tak při hodnocení rizik při neobvyklých událostech (sopečné erupce, úniky škodlivých látek z továren). One of the objectives of the international project EUSAAR was the calibration of measuring instruments, and standardization of methods of measurement of quantities that are related to the air quality. Formats for data exchange and storage were also standardized and infrastructure for the transmission of data from all European stations to the central database in near real time (NRT) was developed. Centrally available data can serve theoreticians to develop and test models of the atmosphere, the data provided in near real time can be used for improving the quality of short-term weather forecasting and risk assessment for unusual events (volcanic eruptions, release of pollutants from factories).
