Práce se zaměří na válečný konflikt v Afghánistánu roku 2001 v kontextu vyhlášení války proti teroru administrativou Spojených států v důsledku teroristických útoků ze dne 11. září 2001. Bude zkoumat zahájení a průběh válečného konfliktu optikou teorie spravedlivé války na základě jejích kritérií, a to skrze jus ad bellum (zejména kritéria just cause, right intention a legitimate authority) a jus in bello (kritéria proportionality of means a discrimination). Cílem práce bude aplikovat kritéria spravedlivé války ve vztahu ke konfliktu v Afghánistánu a zodpovědět, zda ospravedlnění pro zahájení konfliktu a rovněž způsob vedení války ze strany Spojených států byly kompatibilní s teorií spravedlivé války. Práce rovněž bude analyzovat přístupy teoretiků zabývajících se morálním a legitimním zhodnocením válečného konfliktu (Fiala, Crawford, Elshtain). Klíčová slova: Afghánistán, válka proti teroru, teorie spravedlivé války, jus ad bellum, jus in bello The thesis focuses on the war conflict in Afghanistan in 2001 in the context of the United States administration`s declaration of a war on terror as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. It examines the initiation and conduct of the war conflict through the lens of the just war theory based on its criteria, namely through jus ad bellum (especially the criteria of just cause, right intention and legitimate authority) and jus in bello (the criteria of proportionality of means and discrimination). The thesis applies the criteria of a just war in relation to the conflict in Afghanistan and seeks to answer whether the initiation of the conflict as well as the conduct of the war by the United States was compatible with the just war theory. The work also analyzes the approaches of theorists dealing with the moral and legitimate evaluation of the war conflict (Fiala, Crawford, Elshtain).
